Do you have a contact # for them? Will they deliver? I really don't want to have to drag dump that far if I don't have to. Thanks bro hope u recover quickly. Are you going on the camping trip?

Darin,

Sorry to hear, and I hope you heal well and soon. 60's are replaceable, glad you got the better end of that bargain but sorry to hear of the loss of a good friend.

I am not going to be able to make it as well. I start physical therapy tomorrow and am not supposed to be driving until next week :( My tools and trailer are still available if it helps and someone from the GSO direction can grab them. I will see if I cant get some lumber donated from a client for the raised garden (we still need to clarify if they need/want a second one or just the current one planted) but I will need help (like someone do it for me) loading it tomorrow or saturday am.

Adam if you dont want to haul the trailer that far, Triangle Landscape Supplies has a location in Durham and Jeff will give you a fair rate on a great soil product. I would get the 50/50 blend or superblend if he has it and we wanna spend on it.

Sorry ya'll I am out now. Will post why later on in its own thread, but needless to say my 60 just gave her life for me.

Sorry again. Kinda shook up right now though.

Darin sorry to hear about that, glad you are ok.

Hey Guys

Here's the plan:
Build a new raised bed (they have one existing...they need another). (6'x12'x3-4')
Building the night stands. (need 15)
General Clean up of Area

The plan will be for someone to meet with Jimmie (w Maple Court 919.477.0592) and roll with him to the Home Depot to pick out the necessary lumber.
They should be able to spend $100 worth...if we're over I'd recommend the club picking up the balance, someone purchase it and be reimbursed (Jon/BOD chime in).

Who want's to be the point to meet w Jimmie @ 9:00 to head to Home Depot?

Let's come up with a shopping list so that it can happen quickly in the morning...

Planter:
4x4s with some 1x8s making up the sides?
Landscape railroad ties all the way around?

Nightstands: (follow this design: http://www.minwax.com/projects/pdfs/1993_Bedside_Table.pdf)
3/4" plywood tops
1x2s for the sides/structure
2x2 for legs

Nails - lots

Tools:
Eric - Nail Gun, Compressor, Table Saw
Adam - yard tools etc
Does anyone have a circular saw they can bring??

Everyone bring what tools you think you'll need (Hammer, Nails, etc)

What does everyone think?

Hate I can't make it...sounds like it's going to be fun!

I have a circular saw, but it'll need a new blade. It's not the best in the world, but I'll bring it as well as my drill and extra batteries, hammer(s), etc.

We really could using a framing square, by mine has gone MIA. I'll bring my 3' level. I'll also bring some clamps. We could use a nice long straight edge and carpenters pencils if anyone has those handy, I don't.

 R

I'll bring a circular saw, a few boxes of nails if I still have them, basic carpentry handtools, a sledge, a maul, and whatever else seems useful.

Railroad ties...

I read above we are using railroad ties? If so, we can use my truck to haul them. They are not easy items to move. Any idea how many we need? I'm leaving Havenot around 5-530am on sat to get there in time. I will bring all landscaping tools I can cram in the bed of the truck. I will also through in some saws and other stuff/ If anybody needs to get ahold of me 252 412 7172.

See ya'll tomorrow.
Adam

Who want's to be the point to meet w Jimmie @ 9:00 to head to Home Depot?

I can meet with Jimmie @ the center at 9. I live up that way, and I'll cover any extra lumber that is needed. Lets figure out a good list of what we are going to need.

How much lumber will there be? I have the Tacoma and should be able to fit a bunch in the bed.

Hate I can't make it...sounds like it's going to be fun!

I see how this works, you set it all up and then bail:flipoff2:

Sounds like it's going to be a good time:cheers:

There should be power - be sure to bring some extension cords!

Alex you're in charge of the lumber! If we can't build all 15 don't sweat it!

Had a good time

I had a great time today at the event. It was great meeting all of you and I look forward to the camping trip in a few weeks. The planter looks great and the vets seemed to be excited about there new vegetables. :D

Great work guys; sorry I couldnt be there. Glad you got the soil there in time.

How did the nightstands turn out?

Hey guys,

Sorry I wasn't there today. My intention was to be there with you guys. However, about the time y'all were meeting at Maple Court, I was with my wife at our vet's office having our 14 year-old cat put to sleep. Not exactly a fun morning.

Anyway, glad you guys were able to knock this out. I think this was a great idea. Hopefully it's the first of many ONSC philanthropic events.

Sorry couldn't make it looked fun. Would have much rather been there than at work. At work again today...... almost a month straight will be a month and 2 days before I go camping next weekend.
