Tucker, mine was not snapped all the way around, the ring was / is able to still be utilized. I have it in waiting for a disk axle build since i have 2 long birfs waiting as well. My plan is to run it with the long birfs and if/when it breaks swap to a short birf and short hub. The snap ring is just there to keep it in place, if it can stay attached i think it should work. I just wanted to use up the short birfs in the pile. I did use the hub dial on the 45 for nostalgia and because most would not know that ASCO and AISIN are the same company and what year ASCO hubs were avail. I used the dial on a newer short hub with later birfs on the 45.
