well im back home, but just had a short haul to get there..... i'll let andy and crew sort out all the pics and tell the tale, but we had a pretty dang awesome trip. I was afraid after my mishap and resulting knock out and concussion I would miss it, but I was able to sneak out before Vickie woke up ,I endured a pretty dang strong headache and sore muscles but nothing bad.... I was afraid that after this,

that I would be "that guy" but luckily that was bomar, I guess he pretty well has the title and the hat to prove it..

anyway, i'll get Andy my pics and he can post em up with everyone else's along with the stories im sure they have to tell.... ... I do know both Andy and Bomar have very nice and capable 100's and know how to safely take them places a land yacht was never meant to go, I wont be a spoiler, but a couple comments from razor riders were " you will never make it up that trail" , that coming from a group that was pretty lost, and at the slab where my earlier cruiser poser pic was taken. and the classic... " I wish to hell I had memory left on my go pro" as his wife videoed with her phone a drop off into a creek crossing we did to get to night 2's camp. Many thanks guys for inviting me to go... I really enjoyed it

It was so good we put Dave in the hospital and he came back for more.

Rednecks didn't know that big ass SUVs could go on trails.

JT and I moved the needle on Miller Lite's numbers and I learned a lesson more is always better.

Crocs burn very f'n fast and hot and leave no traces.

100's and 60's are where it is at.
I love my OZ tent.

We grilled the s*** out of some meat.....deer, beef, all kinds of Cajun food.

Brown water is good and good for you.

JT was dropping some one liners at almost make you wreck in a trail. Talking about Russian's and swimmers...

There are some crazy beautiful bluffs and camping spots in AR.

I you miss one of these trips again you are like a Nutria on infedimeans.

Fill in the blanks.

I will bet a fat stack of hundo's we had a better weekend! If you don't think so you are wrong.

Also I told Andy that I had to eat my words..... Yeti coolers are the titties. (still won't buy one but they do work) Awnings do have a purpose.

It was nice Andy was leading with tech maps and Dave was in the back using maps and the mind. I was following the leader and it was nice.

note to self: when forgetting my TEVA's go back the 10 miles and get them, don't just settle for wearing Crocs in the water, also im really hoping Bomar will clear up how in the world a Nutria can possibly get on amphetamines ?????? And does a True "overlander" crap in the woods , or crap in a sack and then carry it in the back of thier rig all weekend ??? I'm afraid I don't quite meet the overlanders code of conduct if its the latter

Yeah I'm not gonna bother writing a summary anymore. Bomar just laid down a start to finish masterpiece.

Lots of pics and vids later tonight.

OK quick summary. Myself and a buddy (Trey) met up with John/JT in Russellville Thursday AM, grabbed some coffee and hit the road to Oark. Rolled in there around 11:00, and met up with Dave Lay. After some good grub that included some very large pieces of pie, we hit the road. Really like how the pace of this trip turned out. We probably weren't in our trucks more than an hour at a time the whole 3 days. We'd drive for a while then pull over and grab a snack/refreshment, BS for a while, then roll back out. Drove with no timetable and no real destination in mind. Covered a lot of ground, but doing it that way really made it enjoyable. Friday was a half day on the trail headed up to the first night's campsite. Mostly dirt and gravel roads, easy going. Stopped at an old homesite that has been kept in it's original condition. Kind of had a Blair Witch Project feel, but other than that really cool. The rock wall around it was pretty impressive.

Next up was a really scenic creek crossing, then the old Union School site, which had also been kept in original condition...also really cool.

Camp night one. Awesome spot on rock slabs by a series of waterfalls. We were here about 30 minutes before Dave began his 15 hour hiatus from the trip. Everything checked out OK, but for a while it was a little scary. Trey and I made it back to camp a little after 9, after an interesting night run. Steaks and whiskey by the fire.

Woke up the next morning to a text from Dave saying he was headed back, and he showed up about 9. headed out for a full day on the trail, some really good scenery and some solid trails. Had lunch on the top of Pilot Knob, which is where Bomar saw the light about the awning.

Couple of really cool creek crossings took most of Saturday afternoon. Also ran a few really narrow trails. More than once when we ran into ATV guys they told us there was no way we'd make it where we were headed.
