Arkansas "Overland" Trip May 2015

I will be interested to see what routes you decide to run. I have made several trips down through there since the first of the year exploring. Loots of forest service roads with unlimited number of side trails to run. Most needing chain saws to open up. Amazing how many trees come down on the roads. I would suggest several saws if your leaving the forest roads.

Also can relate to your mud shots. Was down on white rock mountain this weekend and never thought a locked 80 with good mud treads could be stopped on a relatively slight incline. Would have been walking with winch.

iPhone/iPod/iPad users... check out the Motion X gps app. It's very powerful for a 99 cent investment.

You can download the area maps and it will work with no cell signal. You can track your route, drop a marker on points of interest, save /share/download routes... pretty cool.

A guy used it on our Utah trip with his phone and sent us the file and you can re-run it in google earth.

If you have a wi-fi only device (no gps) you can buy a Bluetooth GPS device that will provide a signal.

@Bomar, I'm still down, was gonna start working on routes in the next few weeks.

@FJ60Cam I use MotionX, have it on my IPAD in my truck. Works great. I'll be able to share routes once we all get up there (if we go).

I've got my MILF weekend.

I'm going to "overland" up the Natchez Trace next weekend.

I think that will be the last tent trip for the Spring/Summer for me so I'll be taking the RTT off finally.

I've traded the vacation day I was going to take on Friday to spend on a longer, fancier "overlanding" trip.

I might still try and meet up Friday night or Saturday morning. It would be good to do a shake-down practice run.
