So you want 37’s, 5” lift and a wide body kit. Here’s your one stop shop.

There is one on this top gear episode. Unfortunately broke a front axle on a rock. Wondering, do they upgrade the axles when using such heavy tires?

I need to watch the episode. Highly doubtful they upgraded the CV axles. The question for me Is... Is it lifted, if so did they install a diff drop.
The good news is the most coveted and most reliable USA landcruiser, the 100 series is also known for its CV Axle snapping abilities

Long term LC100 owner here. That is incorrect.... unless aftermarket CV's. You'll find leaking/cracked rubber boots or maybe worn outer splines after a couple hundred thousand miles.... that's about it.

Guess they were all lies even on those early models, good to know kind Sr
Ill assume the “underpowered” comments are also lies excluding the 1999-2005 models

But none the less the 250 is experiencing a few CV axle pops here and there when modified under high load. I’ll be looking for upgraded CV axles someday

Save me the snark. All year 100's use the same CV's. It's obvious you don't know the difference between CV's and differentials.

The combination of extra-wide fender flares without armor is an interesting one. It would probably do awesome in the tundra, but it's much too wide (~83") for use on the trails around here. My 74" GX470 just barley fits and I have to carry a saw to open up the trails sometimes...

Cool ride.

250 has an 8” front diff with tripod inner CV joints, not surprised to see one of those turds pop under the circumstances. Available info points to this 8” being the same as all the other 8” front Tacoma, 4-Runner, and GX diffs that have been in use for 20 years. If this info is true, then the very stout 100 Series inner CV could take up residence here.

I’ve broken 2 OEM axles and carry 2 spares fwiw. That one was maybe a few months old.

I’m guessing upgrading to the better cv’s offered by Toyota would be the ultimate upgrade - keep the originals as trails spares

oh that's right it was differential ring issues :bang: my bad... its been a minute since i was researching 100 series

Probably going to jinx myself, but I'm still rocking the original axles and boots on our '99 after 360,000 miles.

I broke two CV's on a 200, it's possible on any of them.

Watching the Dissent LC250 on portals and 37s is impressive he has wheeled that thing pretty hard -Rubicon, fordyce, moab, snow wheeling.... no broken cv.

Tinkerer adventures have one episode dedicated to this. LC250 comes with cheaper tripod CV. Hybrid TRD off road and up Tacoma, 4Runner, Tunda, Sequoia and GX550 comes with double offset CV.

Toyota really dilute land cruiser name plate with this 250 launch. I was so hyped up during the launch and have deposits at two dealers. I cancel it once all become known.

I happened to peruse used LX570s while sitting around yesterday evening. One can get a pretty nice one for the same price as a new LC250. Toyota is only offering 4.99% financing on the LC250 anyway....not sure what used car financing is these days, but 4.99% is pretty high and kind of removes the financial incentive to buy new.

5% is considered good at the moment. Most rates are 7-10%.

Yikes. I'd seriously consider paying cash at >7%. We are paying 3.49% on our Highlander....0.0% for our tractor....1.9% for our zero-turn mower....and those were bought in '23, '24, and '25.
