One of my customers gave me a couple of Podlights, took one on the last camping trip and have mixed thoughts on them. They are rechargeable, the battery lasts pretty good, come with 110v & 12v chargers that have long cords, so you can continue working while they charge.

For both camping and rig work I prefer the old school florescent type. The LEDs are very directional, so find that the light needs to adjusted, aimed often, they produce a beam of light where the florescent type produces a wide flood, lighting up a much larger working area.

The PODLight is an innovative new rechargeable worklight, flashlight, and flashing safety strobe... All built in to one durable, weatherproof housing!

I like the pod light because rechargeable by both ac/dc and it last a very long time and rugged. I dont know about it being very directional or $60.?>

Not all LED's are the same with respect to light dispersion angle. I had one of the ~80 LED 12V sticks and the light was bluish and cast a fairly narrow angle. Not what I wanted for a camp light. But my AeroSun Lite is 5000 degrees, basically white and medium flood...great lamp...high watt output. .9A input...but its not a stick...and not cheap.

This is why i like the lights I have, they are LED but they cast a very wide light pattern, then if you need directional you can flip the switch up and you get a spot light.
