I need a ARB snorkel template for a 1980's 70 series... ARB only has a 5 page one that I had to tape together and I am not sure I trust it and only want to drill the holes once...Thanks in advance....

You'll be right, just give it go, just double check your measurements, I put my snorkel in without a template, take your time and don't rush. Post your progress and others will chip in and assist as you go, but you and only you can drill them holes, go for it!!

I'll be in the same boat as you if I don't make it to Ohio in August and meet up with Alberto. If you figure it out without a template or find one, would be great to read a write up.

Alcohol helps ....... :)

Made a reverse template from the back of the snorkel and went for it... It worked well... Finish it up tomorrow...

How nerve racking is it when making that hole, ? as you know when you start there's no going back, but it's all part of the fun,
It's like the same butterflies in your belly when attempting to climb, drop or slide your rig into ......??????, hoping you don't #%€¥ it or break something!! Haaaaaghh!!!!

" I just went for it" ......... That is actually the second half of the redneck anthem.
" Hold my beer for a minute " ...... Is the first half. :)
The snorkel installation looks very professional.

Beer would have helped... Was at work so no drinking.. That prob made it take longer as I kept remeasuring before drilling. It is actually not as bad once you make a template from the actual snorkel.. Just lay it on the fender and go for it.. Thanks for the encouragement...

It's easy to be encouraging when the holes are being cut in someone else's Cruiser.

I have a snorkel on my 80 and I like it jiust fine but I resist putting on on the 74. I do not want to lose the fender emblem or cut up the air cleaner housing. The 80 was much simpler.

By not having a snorkel on your 70 Series your missing one of the greatest experiences associated with owning a unique vehicle. ......... Having stupid people ask you why you put the exhaust way up there?, can you now see under water?,
( I think a few are under the impression it's some type of periscope ) , etc .....these are just a few examples of the questions I hear on a weekly basis. : )

I already have that with my 80......

Learned a lot from this thread as I have a Safari coming in next week. Can you please post a couple pictures of the snorkel connecting to you air cleaner box. Thanks man!
