Is the copper pipe used as a template? Meaning to mark how the old bushing are mounted? Thus using the copper pipe to aid in mounting the new busings the same way the old ones were mounted in?

presumably, the jig would enable you to make sure that the *distance* between bushing centers is correct, since this is fixed by the axle brackets (IOW if it's off you won't be able to bolt things down). The *orientation* of the bushings would depend on the caster correction wanted, presumably maximum so up and down eccentricity.

This jig is a very elegant and clever touch.

Good instructions. Thanks.

Can someone tell me what size the control arm bolt heads are? All I have in the large size ranges are SAE tools, not metrics.

Using my SAE tools as sizers, it appears that five per side are about 7/8, with the sixth at about 15/16.

This works out to 20.6375 and 22.225, so at this point I'm guessing they're 20mm and 22mm.

Can someone confirm this before I order the tools?

Thanks.

20/22 i believe is correct as I bought a box wrench from sears with that combination.

The jig is a great idea and I'm sure that all you need to do is make sure the centers are at the correct distance and then rotate the bushings so that the lines on the bushings are opposed and parallel for maximum compensation.
