I'm very impressed by the new ARB LINX system. A sneak shot of this 200 Series install that is an Outdoorx4 build article. My 200 will get one soon!

”We installed our first ARB LINX system today. We are very impressed at the functionality. This setup controls 4 lights, Air Locker, Compressor, monitors the dual batteries and we'll be using these to control the pairing of dual batteries soon too. The if/then logic rocks, offering theme ability to quickly change the spotlights from high beam activation to keyed activation for example. Or turn a certain item off if battery 2 gets low, etc. We got more installs lined up and look forward to seeing how our customers do their installs on retail/mail order sales. More in stock"

I like it and also don't like it. I like the fact that everything can be tied into my tablet for easy viewing, switching, ect. I don't like that you'd, potentially, be tied to a specific ecosphere, that's assuming you can't use other than ARB associated products with it. Maybe you can, I just didn't see it.
Also, I like analog switches. I don't want to have to wait for my frozen tablet to reboot to turn on my lockers. :)
do they have it for a 1994????

Been thinking of getting an ARB Linx setup for my truck.

How have they been working out now that they've been out for a while?

One question I can't seem to find an answer to is: will the control / display unit work in both landscape and portrait mode?

All of the literature I've found only shows the head unit mounted and being used in the "landscape" orientation. But I believe it's based on an Android phone - so I was wondering if it could be mounted in the "portrait" orientation and the ARB GUI would reorient itself just like most Android apps do.

@cruiseroutfit:

I'm debating between ARB Linx and Switch Pros. Questions about ARB Linx:
  1. Can ARB Linx operate Electronic (non-ARB) lockers?
  2. Can you run a 4-tire inflation/deflation system to this unit?
  3. Can you cary the control unit up to your tent at night and have control off the unit when ignition is off?
  4. Is the Fridge, ARB Compressor and Lockers not considered accessories, therefore leaving six input for additional lights, etc?
  5. Would you just use a wire tap to access low / high / break / reverse lights?
  6. If Screen Breaks, can you run this system off your iPhone or any other bluetooth device?

I have the LINX system. It has good points and bad points. I have been using it for a year now. Still not sure if I can recommend or not yet.

1. Yes, would need to be one or two of the six accessories.
2. I have not done it yet, but I think it should work.
3. If the tent is on the roof or close by, then yes.
4. The compressor and air lockers are not one of the six accessories and I don't think the fridge is either.
5. Yes
6. No, you break the screen you are out of luck until you get a new screen.

This is my biggest issue with this system. If the controller goes there is no way to operate anything connected to it. Plus, what happens if ARB discontinues it if it’s not a big seller, you’re now married to a dead piece of tech. How involved would it be to make a switch to a different setup like a switch pro or that redarc system management thing?

I’m looking at the Linx because it can inflate airbags independently and this would remove a easily lost or damaged separate remote for the bags. I’m just curious on the long term reliability of the unit, will it be performing in 10 years?

1. Absolutely.
2. Yes, I have mine setup that way
3. Absolutely
4. Correct
5. You could, we prefer to cut, crimp and heat shrink the input connections
6. No, it's proprietary to their screen at this time. To date we've not had a single customer break or damage a screen fwiw.

Mine is one of the older or oldest LINX systems in the US, still working great and I just upgraded the Firmware to the latest to control the new ARB Solis lights. Still love it.

We installed the LINX system in the Lexus J201 Concept build as well, a very tide way to control the various lights, front and rear lockers, compressor, etc.

That isn't exactly true.

Any item can have a redundant switch. For example I have an OEM locker switch, light switch, etc that still operates independent of the Linx. Should you want everything to have a redundant switch, easily done. Beyond that it is easy to bypass the LINK with a paperclip to turn any one circuit(s) on as needed.

Don’t mean to hijack, but what’s your impression of the new Solis lights?

We've installed on customer vehicles and we'll be installing on the Canguro 200 for the upcoming Baja 1000 as well as my personal 200. I think that means I like em :D

Thanks Kurt, that’s a sound endorsement. Looks like I’ll be shopping this weekend :p

We'd love to help @ Cruiser Outfitters. They are out of stock everywhere, ARB has more due in next month. We'll ship back-orders in the order they were taken.

Well thank you, sir, for helping me spend my money. I can now purchase this and build in redundancy and have peace of mind all at the same time.

Give us a shout if we can be of assistance with the parts @ Cruiser Outfitters. We stock the Linx, all the accessories and have some deep product knowledge we can assist with.

Any more users? I think I’m gonna go down this route.

I will likely have some redundant switches in case the control unit has issues or breaks but I like the expandable capabilities and the central info location.
I’ll have airbag helper springs so wireless monitoring and control is great.
Patriot camper so wireless TPMS for the trailer tires is great.
monitoring aux batteries and remote light control when we are in the trailer are all pluses too.
Just wondering if others have

I’d like to hear any recent Mud (200-series especially) feedback as well. I picked up a Linx and 12v dual compressor last year and have been piecing together the various mounts and solenoids, etc. to complete the install - I want to knock it out in one weekend (just need to find the time 😆).

I’m going to install the compressor, airbags, and eventually a rear locker, so the Linx made sense.

There is a closed (non-public) Linx owners group on Facebook. Lots of great content on there from both the US and Australia. A couple of the developers/software engineers are members and they provide excellent feedback to any install or troubleshooting questions. It’s well worth the join. I’ll find the link to the group and paste it below in an edit.

I’ve been installing both over the past 2 weeks.
ive been working out the wiring to make it look as clean and reliable as possible. I just worked out the low and high beam pick up.
trying to figure out a clean solution for the reverse pick up. Trying to avoid fuse taps.
plus I’m installing the dual airbag controller and the linx compressor pressure control in addition to just the power control. Also the TPMS sensor as I plan to run TPMS on my trailer to the linx.

I’ll try to post pics of my install once done.
