ARB (etc) Fridge/Freezer Running Full-Time Longevity?

I think the Engels sold to off roaders and sailors are the same.
On yachts they build freezers/fridges into the cabinetry to maximize use of space. Danfoss is the compressor of choice for those systems.
 
Also another really good thing to remember about the fridges we use....the top opens, vs. the door opening, allowing a lot more cold air being maintained in the cooler.

I have a 30 quart ARB /Engel that I bought in '98 and a 63 quart ARB /Engels that I bought a year later. Both run 24 hours a day with very little relaxation time since the day I bought them. The 63 stays in the house filled with fridge overflow until I take a week long camp trip then it gets tossed in the 60. The 30 runs in the shop, non stop with drinks unless it's in the cruiser on the way out for a weekend.
If I averaged the hours running ,I'd guess they've been running 23 1/2 hours a day for the 16~17 years I've owned them
 
I've been running my arb for over five years in the basement, I think it's gotten a little louder but still seems to work fine. It's the newer blue plastic one.
