Yeah, these thing are built to last...The one I picked up used for a few $$$ is working like new. I would say this units is over 10 years old, all it needed was some fresh paint and a little TLC. I keep it on the highest setting "REF" and it stay cool at 30 degrees.

Iam going to splurge on on of Sleed's rolling trays for the back of my truck.

My cheap Norcold

Thanks, it took a long weekend to refinish it.

It's amazing what you can do with a electric sander, primer, and a rattle can! Also the Rus-oleum has some great finishes out now, I used the hammered finish, it hides all the rough spots.

Why not get the slider from sleeoffroad? The transit lock's nice, but the slider seems nicer. It's a few more dollars (if I recall the prices correctly), but it might be more practical.

compactappliance.com sell transit bags for less than what you can get them for? damn...I've been planning on getting a bag for mine. Might as well get it from them.

Slee's sliders are a cool product, but I really don't need any sliding, just a good mount. This cooler is going to see its time in my trail trailer, powered by an Optima yellow-top and charged when hooked up to my FJ40.

Yup, I get great deals on the coolers (the 34 QT is on sale right now, and the are out of stock on the 42 QT for a month or so), but compact appliance has killer deals on the covers. :D

Kurt, what is your price, including shipping to west coast, for the 63 quart arb?

Kurt-I have a Slee unit in the 80 and the transit lock in the 60. For trailer use, you will be happy with the transit lock since it doesn't really need to slide in and out. In the box, the transit lock seems a bit like cheesy plastic, but once mounted it seems to hold up just fine. I'm also thinking the best of both worlds would be to mount the transit lock in the bed of the Slee mount and eliminate the turnbuckles.

Jeff,
How is your engel attached to the truck - I see the d-ring and hook in the front, same in the rear? Is that enough?? :)

Yep same in the rear - it is an ARB - but they are very similar - I like the Slee setup but this cost $10...and I am cheap!

I have wheeled all over with this setup and never had a problem = very secure!

Never lost  a beer!

Thanks Jeff, The Norcold/Engel/ARB are all make by the same company in Japan....I forget who and Iam too lazy to google it. Iam really leaning towards spending the $$$ on the sliding mount. That way the kids can get to the cooloer easy while it's pulled out.

I will hit you with a PM & Price tomorrow AM (not in front of my work computer)

Thanks!

Kurt, can you PM me the price of a 34qt one? I might have to sneak one of these babies into the already blown Cruiser overhaul budget! :)

Photo...did you order through the USA Waeco site? My buddy just ordered from them.
Seriously...ONE MONTH WARRANTEE???

Sorry about the delay. My life is in chaos. 2 kids graduating!!!I had the damn thing ordered and when talking to the "friendly" order girl I asked her if it was the same 2 yr. as the new ones and she snapped back that if I read the top of the page I would have seen that there is only a 30 day. Well she was correct but she sure was a twit about it. I cancled the order after she was unable to tell me what the repairs were on the referb. Needless to say I was bummed. The prices are really good on the referbs if you want to chance the 30 day warranty. Yes it was the Waeco USA sight.
