ARB Drawer Install - remove factory carpet or no?

I also drilled a hole and put a small bolt and nut through that short piece used to line up both cross bars from each box. I figure it would giggle out of place with out it.

@BVCOTaco that looks perfect. Bummer about the missing bolts. Should be easy to find replacements.

@Fisher23 seems like you over-complicated the install. I didn't have to do ANY drilling. The toughest part was deciphering the instructions, but if you go at it organized and take lots of measurements, it goes right together. I also worried about permanent cuts in the carpet, but the cuts are so shallow that the plastic trim "cups" for the latches will cover them if replaced. Looks to me like it's a little too far back as well. But good idea about the shorter drawer allowing the 2nd row to be reclined further. It's just not a concern for me, I'd prefer the drawer room. I'm actually thinking I'm gonna remove my second row seats if I ever go to full road trip mode, use the volume gained for storage (build a platform all the way to the front seats).

The 41” drawer still lets you recline ENOUGH to be comfortable....but definitely not way back. If you slide the seat forward a bit first, though, it will tip back pretty nicely still.

I think my install was different since I mixed boxes. They are slightly different widths which then caused my alignment issue.
They are in there good now, and work fine.

Does anyone have a picture of a single drawer installed on a 200? I need to run one jump seat still. I'm thinking that I will run a drivers side drawer with the slide out top and the ARB fridge strapped on there. Kiddo will ride passenger side. I recall reading on here that this was doable, I am curious if there will be room for my kid to scramble over the single drawer between the fridge and the seat and exit out the rear hatch. I have installed the cruiser outfitter rear hatch release button to facilitate this, there will be car seats / boosters in the second row so I need the hatch to be an exit point.

The fridge would come up snug to the seat as they are usually about the same width (21") as the rdrf box. If they clmb over the back of seat then they could exit that way. The box lines up on the center line, which is where that 3rd row seat also lines up.

I ended up finding some 50mm bolts that worked for me to finish the install last night. Here is the finished project. Will try and put together a write up if I have time. Lots of messing around with the universal instructions.

Thanks for all the tips guys! Love this group!

Just a fun (and useful) FYI now that your drawers are in...
—Your drawer surface handles Velcro hook items extremely well. A very handy—and otherwise wasted—space on the front of your drawers and side fit kit:

“My name is Markuson and I’m a flashlight addict”

Yes indeed. :hillbilly: I am recovering somewhat... One day at a time...haha

There are fewer on my drawers than in that photo...but ya. Those little ones are the ones I handed to people in a pinch and they tend to never get back to me. :)

One of these days I’ll post a newly-found flashlight I think is worth anyone’s consideration. Has replaced all smaller units, it’s about as bright, light and efficient as physically possible...

Just curious does anybody get the roller top or is everyone stay away from that for sliding cooler in and out? And where do you get those Velcro bags and where is the best place to order the drawers I’m in Michigan? Thanks guys

I've seen some with 2 roller tops for easy access. I have 1 roller top. It's not just the cooler .. any gear you have on top of the roller top you can get to easier. I ordered from Slee Offroad.. they just ship it, like everyone else.

I have the rolling tops on both drawers. No more climbing up on the tailgate to reach stuff. Covered with the good old Army blanket in this pic however, so not that helpful when covered up like that.

Many threads on ARB drawers already covering all details of this and other Qs.

That said...I’ve never heard of anyone who regretted getting both with roll-tops—myself included.
