Dave, are you thinking on running it backwards so the run ends in Jerome? There are many restaurants in cool turn of the century buildings for late lunch.

When you pre run it you will know what's best. Thanks for setting this up

Yeah, start in Cottonwood and pop out in Prescott. Late Lunch in Jerome is perfect. Heard the Haunted Hamburger is hard to beat.

Sort of, it starts in Cottonwood and ends up in Prescott, pavement up to Jerome for lunch. I've not run it yet.

I had originally considered a quick scenic run on the Schnebly Hill trail the next day after camping prior to heading out. If I can free up Sunday, maybe it could be "official". :)

Saying Cottonwood to Prescott but wouldn't Prescott to Cottonwood make more sense. Start in Cottonwood your ten minutes from Jerome. Late lunch would work better the reverse route. Camping on top of Mingus Mountain would be cooler and more options outside of a campground then in the Verde Valley. Probably to long of a day but top of Schnebly Hill would be cool as well might be late to gather firewood and setup camp for most. Not everyone has Phil's two minute setup. Would also keep a eye on fire restrictions, Sunday we had a two acre fire just outside our subdivision in Coconino National Forest. With the lack of any moisture this winter I expect restrictions will be coming sooner than later.

Might be up for this depending on stock friendly it is. Plans for my 3rd generation have been put on the back burner and all efforts towards a couple of my earlier Land Cruisers.

The run will be stock friendly, I'm ultra-stock! Route direction has been corrected to start in Prescott and end in Cottonwood, closer to Jerome. Thanks for catching that. Camping is up to the individuals at this point. Good catch on the fire restrictions too.

Probably group up around 7:00am somewhere in North Phoenix, leave about 7:30 and start the actual run about 9:00. Still working on the details.

Perfect, glad to help. I'll know a lot more after we run it next weekend.

Hello all! I have only been on MUD for about 6 months as I just got my cruiser about 6 months ago. I have been looking for a cruiser group and have been recommended to this one several times. I live in Prescott and my son and I go out several times per month. We are camping on Mingus tomorrow night, and also did just 2 weeks ago.

We ran the trail I believe you are running (don't have book with me) just 1-2 months ago. I would love to join in if there is an opening. We did cottonwood to Mingus. It takes about 4 hours, very leisurely. There was a small 100 yard section where a slide had occurred and it was gnarly, the rest definitely moderate. Mingus has awesome camping if you end up there, and Jerome is not a bad place to end up either if you can find a place to park. I will say that after doing cottonwood to Mingus there is a significant elevation increase as opposed to decrease the other way. My son and I (wife occasionally) are going to do all 100 trails in the book and go out every week for some adventures. I'd love to team up with a local group of cruisers every now and then if welcome.

Hope to see you all

Nice ride Eric!

Thanks! ARB front, Sliders, and 4x4labs all arive within the month. PO got a good start and kept her clean. Runs great for 210K miles +

Eric, are those the Level 8 MK6 wheels? what are you running, the 16's or 17's?

Truck came with crap rims and tires. I got these at the same time as tires, about 4 months ago at Discount Tire 16x8 IIRC dont remember make

Great input Ericb1, thank you. Here's a pic of the trail from Gaia GPS with the start point coordinates in Prescott. I'd upload the GPX file but the system won't allow it.

They rate it as Moderate. It will be Stock Friendly, I've got the lowest Cruiser in the club but it's gone to some gnarly places just fine. Total trail length is 19 miles.

I'm going to run it between now and then and post up additional details throughout the next few weeks. I'll post the meet-up spot.

Would be interested in a trail report on the 100 yard slide section with your stock cruiser. Possibly a few pictures. If a lifted 80 series is calling it gnarly I want to be sure my 3rd generation would still be road worthy after tackling it.

Will do.

Dissent, did you already pre run it?
If you run out of time, no worries you can lead and we can explore it all together at the same time. :steer:

Not yet, going to run it on Sunday.

I'm contemplating going if work allows.

I'd have to drive up Friday and camp out along the route and jump in as y'all whiz by on FR 104.

I'll also camp somewhere on Saturday night too.

Sounds like a good plan.
