is there any way to work with this data on a computer rather than having to interface with the droid phone for all map setup... in other words using BCN and you setup you maps and variables using a large screen or desktop computer and then port or load over to the droid device?

Maybe some people are using a android tablet?

I have microsoft streets and trips installed on my laptop. It doesnt appear to have topo maps but it will accept gps signal and track your location.

I've used Topo Map for my ipad and it works great. However it doesn't have any tracking features for exporting routes driven. With Motion X GPS, what is the source for maps when you download them for offline use? is it USGS?.. and are you able to download canadian maps for offline use as well?

Motion X cacheable map sources: Open Cycle Street, Open Cycle Terrain, NOAA Marine, Bing Street, Bing Terrain, Bing Satellite, and Bing Hybrid.

Let me tell you cached satellite maps are the bomb! They take up an incredible amount of room however.

YES to Canada.

I've been using MacGPS Pro on a Macbook Air mounted on a modified RAM tray in my 80 series. It can autoload US or Canadian government topos in 1:250k or 1:50k. A 40 dollar USB "puck" is the GPS. It's a bit tempermental in that if you try to do too many things at once on your computer the program often locks up. Still its the only program I've fund that works on a Mac.
