Can someone please give PM me with contact info for AOE. I am interested in their bumper and cannot get anyone to call me back or email me back anything.

Would love to know the price on this bad boy and the lead time on the work.

Thanks for any help that can be given.

Thanks Jcar, It is your evolution of a an 80 thread that has swayed me to the AOE bumper in the first place. Thank you for the reply and thank you for the amazing build thread. Keep it up.

I actually do not have a Facebook. I will work on getting in touch with them.

I ordered my AOE 80 bumper from there phone number on Facebook. I love the bumper but there customer service was very bad. It was hard to get any replies from them after I paid for it. Good luck.

I'm having Group Buy flash backs. The bumper is great I love it but they really don't communicate at all. Too bad you're on the other side of the country or I would say just go to the shop.

Was thinking the same polloblanco. They could work on their packaging too LOL Pretty sure I know why I was missing hardware and backplate. Did anyone on group buy ever receive their outlet plug? I never did nor heard from Alex again.

Great product. Poor communication.
I wouldn't shy away just a heads up so you know. Also evidently the outlet, fog light cutouts and some other options are add ons in addition to list price.

Id verify with them for certain but I believe it was 1100 powdercoated and no cutouts for fogs. The cutouts were 100 more. Without PC was 100 less. Also a 100 more for them to NOT cutout their logo :(

They're bumpers look badass but after reading their stories, I personally stayed far far away.

When my arb shipped, it was pristine packaging.

Ha! Too bad a pretty cardboard box won't keep that ARB from crumpling up like a soda can the first time it touches a rock ;)

LOL!!!

Years ago I had a LR Discovery. Had an ARB bull bar on that. I was coming down an old logging road in the mountains here in NC. It had about 6 inches deep of good ole Georgia red clay, slicker than owl :censor:. Slid what felt to be 25 yards (probably was only 12 feet). Not an uncontrolled decent, just ZERO traction. :steer:

One of those stone mountain trolls stuck out his ass and caught the right front edge of the ARB. Stopped me and no damage to the Rover, but it bent the ARB to just before it multiplied the damage to the rig. Never did get the bend out of it. Somehow it pinched the frame and wedged itself in place. Couldn't even pull it off by unbolting it from the frame and using the winch to pull.

It saved the Rover from serious damage and I was glad to have it at the time. It just did not feel like a hard enough hit to bend it the way it did.

TO each their own though.

Haha they may not be very durable, but I didn't buy it to bash into things. Although... That would be nice....

I did have someone back into it the first week I had it. Scratched the powdercoat but no other damage

Isn't that how they design them now ? I thought they had some built in crumple zone to keep you from tweaking your frame.

They do. The 80 series bumper (among others) are not designed to be airbag compliant. Most newer designs are or should be.

I think the bumper is thin, but it's going to protect behind it which can be a good thing. Especially since if I'm going to hit anything, its going to be another car by accident. If I were kissing rocks all day, I would have purchased another bumper like a Slee

This thread is a bummer.. I e-mailed them last night about a bumper. Have not gotten a reply back. I rally don't like anything else on the market.... Looks like my XD 9000I will fit their bumper...

Mine took 4 months to arrive. I was in the same boat. I really didn't want any other bumper so I convinced myself to wait it out. Glad I did really as it's still one of my favorite bumpers for the 80s. It has the perfect lines.
