anyone using the Slee stripper pole tire mount?

I cut all the parts and had someone weld one up. About 40.00 invested.
Kinda tricky measuring the angle cuts. Ended up using square tubing for the "pole".

The Slee pole takes up too much room IMO. I use 2 ratchet straps to the 3rd row brackets for the tire and it has never move a mm.

I have your same setup, I don't see why spend the extra $$$. Costco; set of 4 heavy duty ratchet straps, $20.00 work as good if not better than the Slee pole. I even have my Hi-lift strapped and is held firm.

So you can hold a whole car to a flat deck with 2 5000 lb straps and 2 grade 8 chains and DOT doesnt bother you but the spare in the cargo area is a no-no. I just dont see it. I have moved 10,000 lb pieces of equipment using straps......just saying
