Fellas. Pardon my newbieness to this trail.
So Brad. Just so I (we) get familiar with location and times. If we meet up at Hwy 38 and Glass we then drive towards 7 oaks resort? How much further is GM? If we start our way through the trail at 3 pm, and if we make it through in 2-3 hrs, where exactly will we end up? Big Bear lake?
We will not head down Glass road. We will stay on 38 up into Big Bear. Gold mtn. is about 25 minutes from the Glass Rd./38 Junction. After we exit the trail I will be heading east to loop back around to 38.

Got it. Cool.

Found a YouTube video of entire Gold Mountain run from May 2016. Pretty cool that in in addition to driver view, the upper right corner of video has a synchronized view from a following vehicle.

Good video. They ran it backwards (N-S) from what you are planning though.

The rough section at 19:05 is where I got hung up. It was really tore up. The other obstacles at 30:00, 44:30 and 46:05 (waterfall) I didn't really have issues with, but I ran it the other direction so the dynamics may be completely different.

I think most of the issue for me is that I don't think my ATRAC was engaging.

Nice vid.

I agree. Some of those obstacles that Eric called out at those specific times looked a bit gnarly.

Guys don't be scared off by the rock garden at minute 30:00. The driver is taking one of the harder lines through there. There are a couple easiser lines PLUS a total rock garden bypass. This driver just chose to take some of the harder lines through the trail. None of his lines are impossible with a stock 80 on 33's with lockers. Possibly even no lockers with a bit a slipping and patience. The waterfall has a much easier line on the very far edge.

That trail dosent seem too bad im sure i can make it through there in my 80. Count me in for this trail ride.

Maybe we should get a finalized list going so I know who to expect. Also let me know if your meeting at the trail head at 3:00pm or on HWY 38 and Glass Rd. at 2:15 with me.

How do we keep in touch as we get closer to the meet point? Phone (phone numbers should not be posted here, maybe PM).
We also know the starting point, but traffic may happen...CA. I will try to be there a few minutes before, I'll give myself ample time to get there.

I'm in as well.

I'm leaving from south OC.

Not gonna do the morning run, but can meet earlier in the day in Big Bear to cruise around and explore some trails before GM.

Depending on what happens that morning I will either meet at the trail head or at the 38 and Glass Rd.

I'll PM bricks my phone number, as he started this run.

As always I'll bring along my tools, brake fluid, coolant, a set of spare belts, a couple of 2x4's and 1 4x6 wooden blocks for jack stands, wheel chocks, portable air compressor, jumper cables (I need to replace the battery TODAY!!!), fuses.
