I was thinking about getting one of these head units since the screen can be adjusted and turned towards the driver, but not sure if it will fit and work. I have a 4/1994 and am curious if anyone else out there has tried this yet or not?

I have a flat touch screen JVC radio just like that in my Tacoma, and came to dislike it. The reason i dislike it, you have to take your eyes off the road to look at it, and then touch the screen to adjust the radio station, or to turn the volume up or down. With a knob for the volume or preselected push buttons like my old radio had you didn't need to remove your eyes from the road to control the radio. The other thing i dislike about my flat screen radio is all the reflective glare i get off of that big flat screen. I guess on the plus side i would add that my 25 year old truck now has a backup camera because i adding that flat screen. Just my 2 cents YMMV.

Just the reasons I hate my Audi.

I had entertained (pun intended) one of these floating screen setups when I was replacing my HU. The local AV shop was kind enough to test fit one in my dash (1994 model) so I could see. I liked the bigger screen but had some issue with what it would block.

The unit I was looking at did not pan toward the driver but had a slide adjustment for up and down. No matter the position, I would be blocking components that I use or wanted access to (e.g., air vent, HVAC controls, ECT button, and antenna switch). In the end the juice wasn't worth the squeeze to me and I settled on a traditional double din.

I have an Atoto HU in my work pickup. Not a tilting screen , just fixed. I like it, but it is kinda glitchy.
Screen will freeze somewhat regulary. The whole thing becomes inoperable until ignition is switched off completely and restarted.

The HU I have has buttons on the face for mute, volume up/down and skip forward/back, so I have basic control without looking at the screen.
