Anyone installed the Sony XAV-AX100 (CarPlay) into LC/LX 100-Series?

@JonD, now that you've been using it for a couple months what are your thoughts on the unit? Would you still recommend it? Has Android Auto proven useful or annoying or not used it much? (I am buying something in the next few weeks and this is one of my top considerations so appreciate your input!)

Would definitely still recommend this unit. I don’t have an android phone so I don’t make use of Android auto. I use it mostly with Apple CarPlay- playing music and also making and receiving calls. Siri actually works very well. All in all I really like it- great aesthetics, a physical volume knob, and priced right.

I just put the XAV-AX100 in my 2001 LX 470. I love it.

Update on the dimming and lock screen... Dimming - If you have the display brightness turned down the dimmer works as expected. "OK Screen on Startup" - The latest firmware adds a timer that clears the screen. Still love the unit.

It looks like I am a little late to the conversation but I installed this unit myself bypassing the factory amp. I used a metra harness also supplied from crutchfield. I also used an antenna "Y" to keep using both antennas. I am using the subwoofer pre-out with an infinity 10" baselink in the back. I also hooked up a backup camera. I have used both android auto and carplay but I mostly use carplay these days. The system sounds great and with the factory speakers and I am very happy with it so far. Ask me anything!

Stuck one in my 80 years ago and loved it so much, I put one in the 100 last year when I did the stock nav delete. Biggest draw for me was the tactile volume knob vs buttons that all the other decks have.
