let's keep things in perspective... not good, but a smallish incident in the grand scheme of things.... no need to get too excited, I think.

:flipoff2:

Lets keep THIS in perspective, YOU WERENT sitting there on your bike when this jackass came within 5 feet of you at speeds that would have caused gnarly havoc if he flinced, hit a rock, or lost control for 2 secs! Slowdown Keyboard Cowboy! :flipoff2:

ok, you can quiet down now, thanks.

go fill someone elses thread with nonsense

Eric, I think a quick search through the current history of off roading in Anza Borrego and the environmental/biological concerns will elucidate that ANY stupidity on those beautiful washes and canyons you just experienced can, and likely will, jeopardize future use/access for vehicles. The list of plant and animal species that are found in that area are becoming more and more uncommon in the surrounding areas as development begins to encroach. That brings that area into sharp focus for environmental preservation/conservation/restoration. The State Parks registers ALL complaints made by hikers, bikers, horseback riders, bird watchers, bighorn sheep zealots, etc. regarding rude or inappropriate vehicle behavior (whether it really occurred or not). Too many folks are carrying good digital cameras and cell phones that can record video, etc. It'll only take one documented abuse to put access for future use up to review. A lot of us can remember Coyote Canyon being open all the way through as well as a certain state senator 4wheeling through one of the canyons during the bighorn sheep calving. Folks new to the experience of taking a vehicle through sensitive areas need to be kept aware of what the consequences their behavior can be to themselves and everyone else.

Thank you Mike!

Much more well spoken then myself, yet conveying the same message!

Not only was my ass in danger, but the vegetation, and the 4x4ers reputation as well!

We are already riding/driving on a fine line, no need to have morons JUMPING over that line and making us all look bad!

Anyone that had the pleasure of running the whole Los Coyotes trail knows exactly what i am talking about!

Can anyone tell how irritated i am about this?

For what its worth, this happened on SUNDAY, so i dont think it was the group Brent was with!

p.s. there was a group of about 4-6 hikers right near us that shook there head as well. I hope they got his plate and report his ass!

easy dudes, easy...

I'm just as keen to protect the environment and bikers as all of us are. Just concerned that Kevin seemed ready to pop a fuse.. We want him around for a long time... :)

Kevin, We, as a group (with an exception) are really sorry that this happened to you guys! A real man would stand up instead of letting the group take the fall! It was disrespectful and just "not nice"! I am sure the boss will investigate this throughly and will make sure this never happens again. We all have a huge thing in common, and that is wheelin. Not cool for a whole group to look bad because of one persons actions! We have to be careful not to judge all by one. again, we are sorry!;)

I don't think it was any of us that was with the Adventure4x4.net group. This incident happened Sunday afternoon after 2:00 pm. I am pretty sure all had headed home by then. Our run was Saturday morning. A small group did stay Sat nite, but I am think most of them had headed out by the time of this incident. The head man also reviewed all our photos and could not find anyone in our group that matched the description given. I hope someone does identify the offender and he is spoken to.

I read the posts at adventure4x4.net and it's turning ridiculous.

1. READ KEVIN'S POSTS. He is not accusing that forum or their members or their run that weekend.

2. The only ones that brought up adventure4x4.net are people from adventure4x4.net's trip on the day before.

3. Unsolicited apologies from adventure4x4.net- While good intentioned, do not hold it against this forum or Kevin and say either are all the sudden blaming adventure4x4's run. It is not a "witch hunt" against another forum.

4. SUNDAY, SILVER FJC, ARB bullbar, W/ HI-LIFT ON ROOF, BLACK WHEELS WITH A FJC GROUP.
If you can identify the group and boob, then great. They can be contacted and modify their trail behavior.

I understand! It is crazy hope things snowball. It's like playing telephone in grade school!

agree 4xBroad! nip that junk in the bud before it turns into something stupid. Real problem is educating ignorant people on the trails- only thing Kevin wants I'm sure.
Don't jump to conclusions and just find that sunday group... so Kevin can...educate the offender ;)

Mike - well put.
Kevin- agree that you should be steamed, not only for your own protection from flying rocks, but as importantly for exactly what Mike stated.
Eric - STFU!
Adventure4x4 - it was a good fun run and nobody here is blaming our group from Saturday.
Wow - just read everything over there. I was on the run and I never took it that Kevin was accusing our run or the organizers/board.
I do, however, like the attitude we all (both boards) demonstrated about the errant behavior of the vehicle in question and recognize that our sport needs to be aware of actions and perceptions that exist. Nice to see everyone upset about it. While this episode didn't reach Wenzel porportions, it was a good discussion on both boards.

PS - sorry about your avatar over there Kevin. :flipoff2: It is even more family friendly than we are, and we're very clean, except for chat and that's even G rated compared to other 4x4 boards. Another opportunity to thank Wood for such a great web community!

X2...I was on the run too. I think it is pretty clear that there were no FJC's with black wheels AND and ARB up front. It was the most logical group to start the investigation with since:
a. There were 24 or so FJCs in that group (about half being silver)
b. There were 24 or so FJCs in that group (about half being silver)
c. There were 24 or so FJCs in that group (about half being silver)

I think that the adventure group was a good group with great intentions and also a good idea of how our sport should be. They are helping to grow the sport with open arms to newbs and I will run with them again. I just hope that they are not too sensitive and can unserstand why they were the first group in question due to sheer volume of FJCs. On the way in/out on Sat. (I did not stay overnight), I saw 2 modded FJC's outside the state park that were not on our run....I didn't pay much attention to the mods, but do know that there were others out there. Unfort. there were others out there making us all look bad.

Smit

...and the other half of the FJ's were Voodoo Blue. One obvious exception was CruiserLarry in his beautifully modded Yellow!!

For what its worth, i am not 100% on the black wheels, but i am POSITIVE that it had an ARB front bumper AND a hilift jack on the stock rack.

The ARB is stuck in my mind as i thought it might hit me! :D

PS - sorry about your avatar over there Kevin. :flipoff2: It is even more family friendly than we are, :

Yeah, i wont be visiting that site again! :D

They seem like a good group from what I've seen so far, but HighBeams (the forum owner) in his driver's talk did make a point about the family friendlyness he was after for the forum. Ok with me. Hell, I asked Woody if my current Calvin avatar was ok before I put it up so you kind of know where I'm coming from. Love your expertise and fun banter here tho Kevin!

Holy crap, talk about drama. Still want Kevin to get ahold of the guy though. We could tape the beating and post it on advent..... never mind. :flipoff2:
