Anyone else going to boycott the new Catawissa Recreation Area?

I feel like I saw some highway signage for it recently when I was out in Central PA

I expect this to be very slow moving news. I've heard nothing yet.

I only ask because I thought it was initially announced to be opening in the Fall of 2023.

And I agree, slow. I did some google searches, and couldn't find any news newer than August of 2022.

I haven't seen any further mention of it in our local newspapers and driving by the old entrance off route 924 I see no evidence of activity. Talking with the management guy at AOAA he said he expects any development at the former Paragon site to be slow.

It looks like the timeline has been pushed back due to several factors, and they're still doing impact research and planning. Hard to say when this will be available. Construction is planned to begin summer of 2025.
I also don't think they're planning on using the entire old trail network and all of the property that used to be Paragon, but it's hard to tell. I'm pretty sure areas like the old mine will be off limits due to liability issues. They spec'd around 5500 acres. IIRC, Paragon was over 7K.

Just drove by that way earlier this week no signs of anything happening yet.
