Heck, I done had one of ‘em. Kept it stock though. Didn’t think they would ever end up so popular!Look who's crossing over to the dark side![]()
IIRC, the '08s are covered under the factory repaint recallI believe dash recall
Was done, blizzard white (is starting to peel) 08’ good truck. 601-572-1006 to discuss price. I want this one to find a good and needed home.
It’s not a recall it’s a Customer Support Program. You have to have extensive Lexus service records to qualify. Mine is an 08’ within applicable date range and I was declined both at dealer and corporate level.IIRC, the '08s are covered under the factory repaint recall
I hate to hear that, because my experience was quite different. My sister and BIL in Boston (not previous Lexus owners) bought an '06 in Alabama. They had the vehicle shipped here, and when it arrived, the paint was coming off MUCH worse than described by the seller. MUCH worse! I took it to Herrin-Gear, they inspected it, and they set a time for me to drop it off and have it repainted (all panels, except for the ones not then experiencing paint loss). The next week, I dropped it off at the dealership to have it repainted. A few days later, the service advisor contacted me to tell me "I had a problem." What I'm certain she MEANT to say was, "I made a mistake." That's when I learned that only the '08 and '09 models qualified for a repaint, and this car was rejected. The rejection was only related to the year model and nothing else. It’s not a recall it’s a Customer Support Program. You have to have extensive Lexus service records to qualify. I filed mine at Herring Gear also... Then I had the former owners talk to the GM for me to see if pulling strings could help in getting it done on a second try and they still declined.I hate to hear that, because my experience was quite different. All that is to say that, had theirs been an '08 or '09, they would have had a dealer repainted GX with zero obstacles and no request for any prior service records. That was last year, so maybe things have changed since then, but that was the scenario I encountered locally.
