Anybody here sell their sports car to get a Land cruiser or LX 570? I currently have a 2017 Chevy Camaro ZL1. I am seriously considering this selling it for Land cruiser or LX 570. I know they are two different worlds. As crazy as this might sound, I know there must be some of you that made the move. Was hoping you could share your experience and if you miss it still.

For the longest time, I thought I would never sell my car. However, if I am going to, it would be either for Land cruiser or LX 570. Before getting my Camaro ZL1 three years ago, I had a tough decision between these three vehicles. I definitely had my fun with the car and enjoyed every moment. However, I know the wife would enjoy one of these SUVs much more.

Do it. I sold a mint 2011 E90 M3 last year before we bought our 200. It had 20k mi so I hardly ever drove it and it was not practical with 2 young kids. It was also not worth keeping long term from an investment perspective. The 200 is an awesome family hauler and my wife loves it.

I don't miss the M3 at all...but wouldn't mind a Mercedes E63s wagon when the kids stop spilling their cheerios in the seats.

I put my 2014 M6 GranCoupe up for sale after recently having purchased LX570. There is no doubt I’m going to miss it once it’s gone but you can’t beat the comfort, reliability and peace of mind you get with owning a 200 series.

I don't know that it is a sports car but I traded in my 2018 Lexus GS350 F-Sport with 10K miles on it for a 2009 LX570.
I was destined to kill myself in that car.

I'm fortunate enough that I didn't have to sell the ISF or 911 tts to get the LX 570, but if had to stay with just one, it'd definitely be the LX. Nothing beats driving through NYC pothole ridden streets without care and in complete comfort.

you sir are a unicorn ... probably one of the few that does not miss the S65V8 and the e9X platform for the M3. funny you mention this though, because I am in the same boat right now .... can't decide between which one of our cars should we let go in order to prep for the LC200.

I guess it depends on the purpose of the vehicle. If the Camaro is a 'fun' DD, and you don't track it, then sure, the LX will be a much more usable car for you and family.

If you track the ZL1 and it fulfills another passion/hobby, then you may end up regretting later down the road, unless you're wanting out of it altogether.

I did. For a period.

I previously had a LX470 and Lexus IS300 that had a 400hp Supra twin turbo 6-speed manual driveline swap. For emissions reasons and newborn kids, I sold the IS300. Knowing full well I was going to replace it with a Porsche at some future point.

I was intended for it to be a longer duration before I got into a sports car again, thinking I could make do with the 100-series for a few years while we weaned a newborn.

That lasted only about 1 year. Really really missed scratching the speed itch. Thought I could pacify myself modding the LX, but that only did so much.

I have several wants from cars
- Something different and special
- Speed
- Capability

The LX570 was an upgrade to tow a larger trailer. Functionally, it fills the same niche as the LX470 I had prior.

For me, I don't think there's a single car that could fulfill my wants. Perhaps the cybertruck in the future but that remains to be seen.

Don't get me wrong, the S65 is probably one of the last engines of its kind, a naturally aspirated 4.0L V8 that redlines at 8250 and puts out over 100hp/ liter without forced induction. I truly miss the sound it made above 7k. I also miss the S54 in the E46 M3 that I had. I tracked both cars and had a lot of fun doing it but bouncing over rocks on the Rubicon, dodging trees on Dusy Ershim, or blasting down miles of high speed washboard in rural Nevada are just more fun at the moment...hence my LC addiction. When I eventually get back into sportscars, it will be in a GT3.

I do find it interesting that many LC owners also have owned M3/4/5/6 BMWs.

Speaking of E92's - owned this '13 Limerock DCT....V8 was intoxicating but my wife said I'm not 16 anymore - was
a radar "instant-on" magnet.

I really dig the Limerock edition colors. Not many made either, I see them selling for a premium. My E90 was definitely an "idiot" magnet as well, with anything and everything trying to race it. I'm sure yours was even worse.

Officer to driver: "Press hard you're making 3 copies"

Well which car do you see yourself using more for it's intended marketed uses?

ZL1 - track and dragstrip
LC - trails and trips

If neither, then ......can't answer that for you.

I'm (quite likely) leaving behind a 16 Pro-Tuned STi for a 15 LX, but I don't believe it to be a forever departure. Will probably add another STi or an S2000 to my stable when we settle next year out west. I'll forever be a JDM-weeb. Huge love to you Porsche guys though - truly incredible machines.

I sold my beloved 911 that my wife got me for my 40th birthday. I always wanted a Porsche since I was a teenager, however, our new 60lb and growing Bernedoodle puppy no longer fit comfortably in the passenger seat and dictated it was time to get something a bit larger. I do love the LC, but miss the power the 911 had getting on the freeways - it always put a smile on my face. Nice thing with the Porsche is that it maintained its value over the 8+ years of ownership. I only wish I had a 3 car garage. Anyone upgrade their LC with a Magnuson Supercharger? That may help restore the missing power :). Anyways, once quarantines are lifted I’m looking forward to trips with the LC! Best wishes with your decision.
