Found a small old (1980s?) Norcold at a Garage sale, guy did not know much about it but said it worked, missing the DC cord, he only wanted $20 so I took it, oddly it only has one control, an on/off switch.

Got it home and in fact it works a bit too well, when first plugged in and turned on the compressor runs for about 20 min solid and then goes into a on/off cycle based on a non adjustable thermostat, that thermostat is set for below freezing, a cup of water I put in there is half frozen in less than 2 hr,

Is it a freezer only?

I called Norcold they could not get any info on that model,

I have only found one mention of it on the web, a schematic for it on the last page of this manual.

I see the MRFT615B/MRFT630B/MRFT640B has a similar layout except for what appears to be an external (adjustable?) thermostat I hope I can find parts for those but they are form 1987 may not be able to,

anybody got a schematic for the new fridges? i wonder if the newer models have a dual pole thermostat?

Either way its a good find! congrats

Weird, never seen one like that, even the top/door is different than my old norcold. Hopefully you can find a way to add a thermostat. What size is it? My 32qt has the cooling plate(?) going around the whole fridge, instead of just along one corner/side.

Need to measure it but it is pretty small,

you could probably get two gallon milkl jugs left to right but not frnt to back, I'll measure tonight.

EDit: the cooled portion is 10"H 10"D 14"W, 1,400 cubes makes it a 24 quart. (20 dry quart)

i'd just wonder about current draw on what looks to be a
rotary compressor. a 45 quart Engel only draws 2.5 amps
running continuously as a freezer and a .5 - 1 amp running
as a refrigerator...

the plate says 4.5 amps on 12v so that is not near as good as the new ones. it is a swing motor, not a rotary compressor though, just not as effecient as the new ones,
