Any long term owners park outside - how’s the paint holding up?

What’s the goop around the top of the headlight lenses?
Silicone from getting aftermarket headlights to actually be water tight. Side note to anyone wondering, only go OEM. I'm just waiting for these to get bad enough before I just buy the OEM Parts. :mad:

@Cruisin911

That hood paint looks like a respray, not OEM paint.
Disagree. I used a paint meter on it and it matches all the other panels. When i first saw this happening, that was my first thought as well. The paint simply isn't bonded to the primer/base coat. Additionally, I have had the entire front end apart and there is no evidence of an accident, collision, etc...

I stand corrected. That just looks awful.

Side note. I have a local shop stripping the hood down to bare metal for a repaint. Guy said it is a paint defect and that he has seen numerous Toyota trucks and Lexus products with the same delamination of paint and primer. Guess that I'm just one of the unlucky ones. Like Ive said before, this is my 7th Toyota truck and the first time I have experienced anything like this. On any car. Ever.

Edit: Just got back from the shop. Stripped hood down to bare metal. Nearly the entire center section of the hood peeled off. You could grab a corner of it and peel off a playing card piece with 1 hand. Complete crap. Hopefully the rest of the truck fares better. $700 lighter in the pocket.... At least its all nice and pretty now....
