anyone replaced bulbs in their cluster? it looks to me like i lost the "left" bulb in my speedo which i'd like to fix but wondering if i shouid replace a bunch of other stuff, how much of a pain this fix is and also if anyone has a list of parts for it.
i'm going to hit the FSM and online diagrams here shortly.
its kind of hard to see but something is definitely out.

I did this last week. It is indeed in a pain in the ass. Probably about 45 minutes to get the cluster out. 5 minutes to replace them all. 45 minutes to put it all back together.

I got all the bulbs from partsouq.com - I recommend replacing all the bulbs while you are in there. (warning lights, backlight bulbs, etc)

Do you have a list of everything you ordered to make it easier for someone else to order?

yeah. thanks for this. it helps. it's nice to know what to plan for.
so any tips on anything to watch out for? i guess one tip would be not to do it when it's cold out or to work indoors.
admit to cracking the bezel on my tacoma putting in a clock which is supremely annoying since i didn't even have the cluster out.
also can i be a pain and ask if you happen to have a purchase list with parts? i feel like half the battle is just getting parts here.

i'm hearing like three of these T10 194 clear bulbs and four in green of the same number (or something) for full incandescent bulb replacement.
EDIT: second two images are not my work but maybe helpful for folks replacing bulbs. i'm still looking to chase down how many i need.

Sort of... I used their diagram and bought all the bulbs associated with my cluster (94' Land Cruiser)... along with the HVAC bulbs, hazard button bulb, ECT button bulb, antenna button bulbs, etc. (You have to remove all those interior panels / switches, so I figured I may as well pop in new bulbs)

I do not remember which bulb is for where... But here is what I bought.

Five of 9913212034 - listed as "BULB"

Four of 9098111018 - listed as "ASHTRAY RECEPTACLE LAMP BULB, RH/LH"

Six of 8499970015 - listed as "LAMP ASSY, HEATER CONTROL INDICATOR, NO.1"

Eight of 9007202005 - listed as "BULB (FOR INDICATOR)"

Nine of 9007202006 - Listed as "BULB, TRANSMISSION INDICATOR LAMP"

Disclosures:

* Many of these bulbs look identical... And very well could be.
* I ordered more bulbs than needed.
* I do not think their part number name/description should be relied on for what their purpose is.
* I'm sure there is a cheaper way to do this.

As far as how to... Its really just Philips head screws and connectors. I used a plastic pry bar. You can't really mess this up terribly. If anything, try hard to remember what order you took the panels apart. All the connectors can't be incorrectly plugged, so you dont need to remember which connector went where.

* You do NOT need to remove the steering wheel. Just tilt it down. I did NOT do anything with the steering wheel, other than remove the upper and lower panels. I did not touch any wiring below.

This youtube video helped, but made the processes seem harder than it is. Don't let it intimidate you, its literally just a bunch of screws.

someone elsewhere else said 3 - T10 194 white and 4 T10 194 green.
did you also do the HVAC controls? i actually have bulbs to do HVAC controls already.
any idea how many bulbs you needed to do "just" the cluster at the ateeeing column? and are they all the conventional type?

If you just want to do this job once stick with Toyota bulbs if you're replacing all with the incandescent type bulb. IME the Non-OEM Sylvania bulbs are hit or miss quality.

so i'm hearing:
3 - 194 white,
4 - 194 green and
16 - T5 74?
then 10 more of some kind i haven't figured out for this transmission section of the cluster.
-
and then someone else said you need:
Large bulbs (7) 00234-00158
Medium bulbs (11) 90981-11018
bit this doesn't add up to the 23 + 10 or 33 in the above list. it's only 18 bulbs?

There's a full list of bulbs (OEM w/part numbers in the FAQ).

Went through it and bought them all from Toyota at the year end sale. Cost a pretty penny, but as I'm pulling the non-oem head (a 20 y/o Sony) out of my wife's rig, it seemed like a good idea to get my "D" light working while in there.

Here's the FAQ link:

any idea what part of that list is just the cluster? i posted above a list of 18 total OEM bulbs someone gave me and then someone else is showing like 33 total (with a description for rhe ten in the transmission indicator missing as of now).
but the list in that link seems like it includes the whole dashboard something?
i wonder if we could divide it up so it just show the cluster? also for install it would be way easier to bag even just the cluster bulbs together in an organized way.

Yeah, that is the COMPLETE list of interior bulbs. Go here: https://partsouq.com/

Enter your vin (if you haven't used partsouq, they are legit and safe to use for research and for buying parts... no affiliation, but I've ordered a ton of things from them over the years).

Print out the bulb list, and navigate to the "electrical" section. In the dash diagram, you'll find all of the PNs for the cluster. Cross-reference with the printed list, and you'll know exactly what (and how many) to purchase.

thanks. i wonder if someone doesn't already have it just for the cluster so we all can order for just doing the cluster.
i think there is a thread in here for just hvac controls.

I just did this last weekend on my 94 FZJ80 and tried to document it using OEM bulbs and sockets.

Meter:
4 large green #83119-36060 reuse socket
3 large clear #00234-00158 reuse socket
(FYI also easy to reuse the green condom haha)
11+ medium clear 90981-11018 reuse socket

Shift Indicator column:
8-9 clear socket+bulb 90072-02005
1 green socket+bulb 90072-02006

Heater Backlight bulbs I ordered did not match what I had inside. #84999-70015 did not fit

thanks a lot. this is a big deal. i will try to write it up before i order if someone doesn't beat me to it but can i just ask you a couple questions? looks like you have 1-9 here.

70015 is third to last and doesn't fit?
what is the last word or two i the second to last one?
also do you have numbers needed for each of the 1-9?

FYI... I finally made my first YT video and it's one I've wanted to do for awhile to help others with the cluster remove/replace. I'm still learning the bulbs and what works so no real advice there, other than whenever I put LED in the low fuel light spot it always stays on. So I went with OEM incandescent on that one.

so do we have or can we have a typed list of the final incandescent (or non-LED) bulbs? shouid i type up your written sheet and post it here and we can edit it so we have a final one? i'm not looking forward to trying to order without a typed list.
also i just realized i need to let you know im a former longhorn.
