Hey everyone it's my first time posting here. Im a restoring an emerald green fjz80 with my dad. We were thinking about putting a wood trim but I can't seem to find one for this part alone. I'm open to any ideas. Thanks

Does the rest of the Interior have the fake wood trim?
If so someone might have a console in the part out section you can make a wanted post in the parts section other than that I really don't know. I use to install wood grain kits back in the early 90s for the dealerships also gold coating badges have no idea if that stuff is still around.

No the rest of the interior doesn't have any wood trim. I don't mind just putting on the center console, I just need to put something haha. I'll do some looking.

If you search there is a bunch of threads on this.
Try google Fzj80 wood trim kits

My black woodless console was scratched all over, through to the yellow-clear substrate, and I got good results repainting mine with:

1) Dupli-color Plastic Adhesion Promoter Plastic Adhesion Promoter | Duplicolor - https://www.duplicolor.com/en/products/primer/dupli-color-plastic-adhesion-promoter
2) SEM 39143 Trim Black Aerosol https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000EM019O?tag=ihco-20

It's very slightly flatter than the original, but it's very close and much better than it was. I might try the satin black version if I were to do it again.

Regardless, it looks great and no one but me would ever guess it wasn't original, and it will probably polish up every time I clean it. It was surprisingly easy to get professional looking results. I painted the face of the ash tray, top right, with the same method.

What year is your cruiser?

I don’t think the console woodgrain will be easy to find by itself. So your options are:
Sand a paint what you have like tech_dog did.
Or buy an lx450 shifter console if you want wood grain but you’ll have a switch hole for the 2nd start/PWR button.

Preface: You said fun ideas right?

You could do the following:
1. Flocking it
2. Put down a Atacama adhesive applique
3. Get a vinyl wrap that has a topography image and cover it - either black with white line or white with black lines
3. More boring but you could just prep it and paint black

Mine has old original wood veneer with stickers from previous owners on it. I added one of those BH3D double cup holders, and also the remote face for the ham radio. Other than that I don't really look at the console much.

Ideally when I have extra money burning a hole in my wallet I'd get a full delta center console setup.
