This is the Toyota PN for the cable and mast that I installed on my 95.

Thanks for all the replies guy's :) FJJunkie's post sounds good but will it fit on the '96?
C-Dan any help on that part number?? My radio does not control my antenna, does this matter?
If this works I know Mr.T will be gettin' some bidness :D

The 86337-60080 applies only to 1997 Cruiser and 96-97 LX450. If somebody fitted one in an earlier 80 that vehicle has most likely had it's antenna assembly replaced at one time by the later part.

Cruiser Dan set me up with a new mast and the nylon piece from the Camry. It appeared that it would have worked fine. I ran into a different problem though. When removing the antenna from the fender I broke the nut off that secures it to main section. I tried twisting the remaining pieces off and managed to twist the main tube that is in the fenderwell. So it wouldn't work for me. I ended up buying an aftermarket antenna for $65 at a local radio store. I could not figure out how to make the wiring work with the Toyota wiring. Eventually I got something I'm satisfied with but isn't perfect. I put the antenna up by pushing both buttons on the dash UP and DOWN at the same time. To go down I just push DOWN.

Eric,

Yes and yes.

darn...
anybody else?

btw, I do remember seeing some time back a post or tech note showing a photo sequence of the motor removal. Can't find them anywhere - and of course the Search isn't helping...
anybody know where these are by any chance?

Yes...bite the bullet. It's not as difficult as you seem to have imagined.
