The shifter rods came out nice and shiny, very happy how the paint laid down. Threw a new oem rubber boot on it. My old one is in pretty good shape if anyone needs one.

Thanks Guys , grabbed the rest of my FJ40 stuff out of storage and need to start putting this puzzle back together.

SSCR:
Your mustard is looking good. Sorry I was not able to help on the heat shields. I still do not have mine mounted because I have a little issue to work out with a few body mounts.

Thank you for posting the photos of the floor pan. I have a handle on the holes behind the tranny opening, it is the hole in front of the passenger wheel well where a hard line protruds up into and hooks up to the evap system. I have to drill that hole yet along with the ones you provide behind the tranny opening.

Keep up the good work. Its looking awesome. Maybe someday the 40's can meet since they are siblings and all. I am originally from Iowa and plan to drive it back there next summer. That gets a little closer to Illinois.

Don,

I checked Toyota today for these and they are no longer available. I probably could source you some to keep it all original. Your 40 is looking great.

Colorado you were right, I got my stuff from Toyota and they are not the same:(

I did get all my fuel line clamps so I will start installing all new fuel hose. Not too sure what hole near the passenger wheel well is that you described but I'll post a few more photos tomorrow.

I'm cleaning up all the under hood brake lines and putting new fittings on them. I plan to spray them for added protection. What do you guys think, high temp clear like I did with the fuel lines or high temp aluminum?

Dropped off the last of the stuff to the platers and hopefully powder coaters. Man this is getting expensive!

I hate this thread. :frown: I have almost managed to cure myself of my mad desire to own a 40, and resisted to even peek here for a long time. Then I somehow started reading Commander Lee's thread, and now this one, and the lust is back stronger than ever. :o

Ha thanks Franz! Any ways started routing the brake and clutch hard lines, installed a new clutch hose, got my new shiny brake clips, and I covered all the tabs with shrink hose for a nice finished look.

Also a buddy at work ordered a bunch of oem parts so I jumped on his order to save for shipping. Finally got the correct radiator cap.

Looking good man. I hope to post a few updates by next week. What did you do for the cable running from the frame to the starter? Is that new? Or did you refurb your old one?

Refurbed it, just wire brushed the copper and cleaned it up with some mineral spirits. Looking forward to your updates, so I have a go-by for putting this thing together;)
