Calhoun’s Restaurant address……. 100 Melton Lake Peninsula / Oak Ridge, TN.
The place to be at 6:30 P.M. on Thursday 9/22. 😊
** If when you enter the restaurant you get a faint smell of gear oil, that’s the Land Rover guys so keep looking for the group with the Land Cruiser t-shirts. 😁

Save room on your back glass. 😁

Dinner plans ……..

*Thursday evening:
Calhoun’s Restaurant / 100 Melton Lake Peninsula / Oak Ridge, TN
(This is normally our one and only meal in a restaurant setting)

*Saturday evening:
Catered BBQ dinner (6:30 PM) at Windrock cabins 816, 818, 820 & 822.
Unless a last minute sponsor shows up we’ll simply put out a tip jar to cover some of the expense. 😊

It is ashamed that Chris Tolleson (wct49) does not have a 70 and is involved in the meet-n-greet yet. His countdowns for the Crawl are very humorous and are an integral part of attending [and wanting to attend].

Larry,
Are you hinting that we need to purchase a 70 Series for Mr. Tolleson or that my updates are sorely lacking in humor or both? 😁

Curious if anyone will be on site Thursday morning? I'll be arriving Wednesday late evening and if it's just me Thursday AM I'll do some solo exploring but if others are there...

With the understanding that we’ll have folks attending this event that have little-to-no off-road experience while others are from the Lee Sumner school of off-roading, we’ll offer several options.
Option 1 …. will be trails that offer some challenges but are suitable for stock Land Cruisers.
Option 2 …. will be what some refer to as the “big boy” trails.
Option 3 …. if you prefer you can grab a trail map and explore on your own.
*** The majority chose options 1 or 2. 😁

Charles,
No hinting ... you are always driving to up your game and the likewise the meet-n-greet. The humorous contributions that Chris provides for the Crawl might provide inspiration for the meet-n-greet too.

Regarding buying Chris a 70 series ... reflects a concept beyond my shallow pockets to consider. But I will not stand in the way of those with such means and motivation.

I'll be absolutely riding with the group once the group arrives. I was just curious if folks were gonna be there Thursday morning or not. I've been to Windrock a few times already and fall into Option 2. That said, I'm here for the group.

I will post my phone number a couple of days prior to the event for those that might need last minute information. Bare in mind however that once we leave the Windrock parking lot (9:00-9:15am each morning) and hit the trails, due to poor cellular service our phones are basically paper weights and communications are non-existent.

The great 70 Series pilgrimage is right around the corner. 😊

I’m headed north on Wednesday (9/21) to visit a daughter and grandson in the Atlanta area. I plan to roll into Windrock mid-afternoon on Thursday. We have reserved 4 cabins (816, 818, 820 & 822) which will serve as “command central” during the event. My phone number is 221-8606 (area code 229) if you need additional information after Wednesday.
Hope to see everyone at Calhoun’s Restaurant Thursday evening. 😊

It looks like the weather gods will be smiling on us. 😁

Starting to slowly pack. 😊
I’m telling the neighbor kids that the black bag is the last kid that didn’t stay off of my lawn. 😁
