I just wanted to introduce myself. I've met quite a few of you in passing over the last few months. I even remember looking in my rv mirror wondering about the person taking this photo at the time.

Anyway, I've always planned to make a meeting but by chance my truck is always down the day of from me fixing this or that. Currently I'm attempting to rebuild my t-case, reseal trans, rear main, oil pan, install new oil pump, and a host of other items. I'm a little over my head on the t-case but so far things are going ok.

I've loved land cruisers for years and years. Remember seeing the 80 at the auto show new, loving 60/62, lv45's especially, pigs and 40's. have been trying to get a 40 for a long time but it was always I had money but the only ones were too much or rust buckets or the perfect one was for sale but no money in the budget. I'm sure you know the story.

Got mine in December and haven't looked back.

Not sure what else to say. The garage is always open for anyone wanting to work on a 40 with me, pizza and beer included.

Regards
Matt

You don't have to drive the cruiser to come to a meeting. Come on out and meet us all. Welcome to the madness BTW!

Well it's a long walk to the Cherokee!

But seriously I will do my best and i've been looking forward to it for awhile.

Welcome. Where did you find the 40? Story on it? Love the stock look!

Welcome to the jungle.

Here is the story of the 40.

It was purchased new in Clarksdale and the original owner had it for about 30k miles, he used it on his property for hunting etc. He ended up selling it to a guy that owned a tractor dealership in Tunica (and I'm pretty sure I took that guys daughter out on a date once, only once she had good taste I guess) anyway, he had his guys reps ray the truck but kept it the same color. It wasn't a good paint job but it worked. One of those owners blew a hole through the roof while hunting, it must have been a good trip. The third owner is who I bought it from in Hernando but in the interim an older man he knew that had a car collection said he'd like to buy it, he did and put it with his cars and then sold it back I guess 18 months or so later. The guy in Hernando wanted to help his son buy a truck (wanted an auto good for me) and he also dd a 60.

Anyway I have all the tools, original bill of sale, original owners contact info etc. I don't have a window sticker though. The only add on items are A 4" lift from a place in Amory, a vintage looking vintage air a/c unit, power steering and rear disc brakes. Not sure about the winch. You can see all of the factory rivet marks.

The best part (and the part most important to me is that there is virtually zero rust. I've had some surface scale but nothing that sanding and paint didn't fix. At some point this thing was mudded to the floor and perhaps that helped protect it. I have scrapped mud from the bottom and the paint is factory clean under the oil/mud/undercoat stuff. It has about 57k miles.

Anyway, I'm resealing, powder coating, etc while driving it. I went to Colorado and back in July and when I got back I got into the project I'm on now. I also took it to 49 tire and met Chris and saw his 40. They were very helpful too. That's about all I can think of now.

I was driving my red 40 around the renaissance, your wife stopped me to tell me that she had a husband who had a beige 40. I told her about CLC and also told her to tell you to attend a meeting and come say hey sometime.

Welcome!

Welcome Matt.

I have the white 80 in town. I think our boys are in Cubscouts as well. Next time ya see me or vice versa we will have to introduce ourselves to put a name and face to our cruisers.

Come onto the cherokee and to the Southern Cruiser Crawl. I guarantee you won't regret it!
