I know a guy selling an SAS'd tacoma, bed already bobbed, all it would need is some duals and a cage. I believe its still road worthy. Let me know if your intrested and ill give you his info.

The zuki idea has crossed my mind.

If Dareal gets the tires I'd be very interested in the wheels.(and Dareal's tires)

For the moment the 80 isnt going anywhere. Its pissing me off right now, so im exploring other avenues, but I won't get rid of it without another wheeler ready to go.

Why bother with a scrap 4.3 over the stock motor? It's a pretty solid motor, but I just don't see it being worth the effort.

just throwing this out there, but have you thought about getting a second gen 4runner, chopping the back off, putting in a vortec 4.3 and an fzj80 front axle under the front??

I had thought about that exact thing! If I hadn't realized what I was trying to build after I had chopped the top, I probably would have finished it.

Sonofabitch the itch is back again. I think I got it from Tony this time.

Yes, its called a 22re, lots of gears and no weight.

Hey, that sounds like my truck!
2460 pounds with a full tank. 2660 pounds with me in it.

And sorry about that itch Joe, I already have a prescription ointment for it, I can send you some.

I can drop the taco off with a bed full of sas parts and pick it up in a few weeks, would that cure the fabbing itch?

******* that's a light truck tony!

.

Holy s***, that is 40% of what my 80 weighs.
And Geoff it might, but it won't cure my issues with the 80. I can part it and throw the axles under my 3rd Gen, but I would honestly rather start off with something 2wd. Plus it's still a great daily driver.

This should be fun to watch and even more fun to watch you wheel it! Kind of like the old days!
Tony if your truck is that light I'd guess mine isn't much over 3k# if that.
Get a one ton dually and you wouldn't even need a trailer.

I pulled mine up on the scale at the transfer station and that's what it weighed. That was with no junk in the tool box & no "wood bed floor", & no hi-lift, but otherwise as is.
