Unfortunately a trailer won't work due to not having anywhere to keep it... townhome living at its finest in the city.

How often do you need the bed capacity? Could you just rent a trailer or pickup?

like everyone else has mentioned, you'll regret it. I've taken my 200 into the dealership for work, they had given me a 2019 tacoma as a loaner since I had the option and wanted to see what it was like. It is cramped! can't get the seating position just right, and the power is miserable

@bloc throw it for sale with a price youd be happy with and see what happens.
Oh I’m not selling. I just wonder if the used market is as strong for low mile 19s as it is for older ones.

As others have commented, I also came from a Tacoma prior to Land Cruiser. LC is the superior ride for daily driving. Also, I’m 5’9” and could never get comfortable with the Tacoma seating position. If you absolutely need a truck, then maybe full-size might be the ticket.

I think just for perspective you should post on the Taco forum posing the same question.;)

Count up all the days you really needed a truck or trailer last couple of years and ask yourself if you cam do with out one. There is always a friend out there willing to let your barrow their truck for a day or two and I am sure that wouldn't mind spending the driving your beast around. Please don't get rid of it, you always have options and the guys on this forum and mentioned some great ones.

Methinks you would take a big hit for trading in your 19 LC so soon. I wouldn't do it.

Move. :)

Don't know your what exact usage would be for the pick up ? My thought is plan for the 350 days not the 15 !

I say yes. I went from a built 80 I drove for 10 years to a 13 DBLCB built Taco with the campershell and found it too small when it came to trips and hauling the family. I went back to a cruiser. If I need to haul things I throw them on the rack and also have a 5x8 utility trailer for anything outside of that.

Always wanted a TRD Off Road Tacoma, so 3 years ago I got a new 2017 fully loaded up. Lasted 2 years before I couldn't deal with the lack of comfort, power, and rear space that was secure, dry, and easily accessible. Test drove my 2015 LC and never looked back. Would never go back to a Tacoma after having the LC, and like others have said I think you'd regret it!!

(wink alert) ;)

-Just an observation after making my own thoughtful suggestion re cargo space to the OP.

But after seeing the zillion responses...
...I have stopped worrying about the OP’s dilemma.

Because...if he just owned & dumped a 2018 Ford Raptor (I know how much those things cost!)... And... He is already considering dumping his brand new 2019 LC...which is as wildly expensive as the Raptor....

...Clearly handing over instant-depreciation $ is not a big deal for him. ;) And if it doesn’t bother him? ...then it doesn’t bother me!
Lol -And more power to him, by the way.
Money freedom is great and I’d love to know what that’s like someday.

So... My NEW suggestion:
-Dump your LC as quickly as you dumped your new Raptor...
-Grab a new Taco...
-No likey your new Taco?
-Dump the new Taco for...........
....another New LC, of course! :hillbilly:

-Then report back with the REAL answer to your own question so that others here who can’t afford such wild buying practices will learn from your comparison.

:popcorn::hillbilly:

Haha. When reading through it all I was thinking the same thing. Well said.

All also add for almost 20 years I had a 1992 F250. Always kept it around as a plow, tow rig, hauler,... I got rid of it and a g500 when I got my LX. For the last almost 6 years every time I would need a truck say 2-5 times a year I rent an open uhaul trailer for <$30. I’ve looked at the fold up ones and they look nice for me it’s just easier to rent and return.

Just rent a truck when you need it. I talked my GF into getting out of a van and into a 200 series. We rent a van when we need one.

Take a look at the new Ranger. More comfortable with more power than the Tacoma. New Tacoma not as reliable as the old ones. Plenty capable off road in the higher trims, with just as much or more towing and payload capacity compared to Tacoma, depending on trim level. Reliability verdict is still out, but engine and tranny in Ranger been used in other vehicles and markets for a few years now.

Not to mention the new taco v6 uses a camry engine. It'll make the power but you have to wring it's neck to do so.. doesn't drive like a truck engine at all.
