Alternate to Carfax

I recently purchased a 1975 FJ40 In California. I want to track the history of the vehicle but Carfax only goes back as far as the early ‘80s. Is there a way to determine the ownership, and more importantly, the previous ownership locations? I would like to know where my semi-rusty FJ hAs been. Any ideas will help. Thx John

being as things were done by hand and with paper back then, the records would have had to been saved and then scanned in to an overloaded system,, most likely a big dead end.

California does not Save old dmv records. The only way to track history is through previous owners.
