I am having trouble finding replacement slow jets for my carb. I pulled them out for a rebuild and noticed that they were cracked on the end. I assume from over tightening. Does anyone know where I can buy replacements?

Do you mean the slot is just wallowed out or actually cracked to the threads? So long as you can remove the slow jets and the orafice isn’t bunged up, they should be fine to re-use.

The kits that Cruiser Outfitters sell come with new slow jets.

Can you make out what size is stamped on the jets?

The actual shaft of the jet cracked. I wasn't for sure that it would effect performance or not. I talked to someone at sor and they said they could just be soldered up and redrilled. But I'm not that confident in my skills, as far as soldering goes. Here is a picture. Both slow jets are cracked in the same place.

And sorry the numbers are readable. The long jet is stamped 90 and short is stamped 65

I’m sure there are people on mud that have bunches of those slow jets. I wouldn’t mess with soldering them. You could post a want ad in classifieds. Or Kurt at Cruiser Outfitters sells Japanese made kits that do include slow jets link—> Carb Kits

Mark

The kits that have slow jets in them are for F engine carbs. The jet sizes provided by the OP are for a 2F.

The actual jet is pressed into the bottom of the brass tube. Because of the tight press, it's actually common to find the tube is cracked. As long as the jet is still in the end of the tube, it will work fine. Occasionally the tiny restrictor will fall out of tube if it's really cracked badly.

Ya I figured that out fj40jim. I went ahead and put them back in and attempted to tune the carb and never could get it right. The large vacuum port where the smog pump used to attach, it's been removed, kept flooding with gas. I tore the carb back down and inspected the slow jets and realized that the secondary still had the jet in the bottom of the tube, but the primary slow jet had dissappeard somewhere in the rebuild process. I will have to order some new ones from cruiser outfitters. Thanks for all of your help. I will let you know howbit turns out after I get the new jets installed.

@Dieseldadtx
based on Mark’s Offroad response, I’m guessing he’s saying that 2F keyster rebuild kits don’t come with replacement slow jets. I’ve only bought kits for mechanical secondary Aisans, so my assumtion that all Keyster kits come with new slow jets must be wrong.

Honestly, Diesel Daddy, since both of the MUD professional Land Cruiser Carb Guru's have posted in your thread (65swb45 and FJ40Jim), it might be in your and your Cruiser's best interest to just send it to one of them for a rebuild. Best money you'll spend on the truck.

Here’s a spare from a early 70’s Keyster kit.

Drilled it with my smallest bit .97mm
So now I guess it’s a 97 slow jet

In my FJ40 1979 they told me that they changed the carburetor, but happily the carburetor that came mounted was kept in a box and today I was able to find it. I have some doubts a carburetor that was installed with code 5J29 (this means 1985 October 29) which repair kit I can buy some measure of the primary and secondary jets note: the previous carburetor has code 9B12 (1979 Feb 12) originally mounted, I also want to rebuild it some repair kit for this model
