air to liquid intercooler tank source?

Rick, I found a 1983 Goldwing radiator on Ebay. Does yours look like this? Can you be so kind to shoot a picture?

Thanks all for the suggestions! Doug

yes that is the guy. I haven't actually mounted it but if you look at he filler neck it comes out forward before it turns up. That should allow the rad portion to tuck in nicely and still give access to the filler. I'm planning on having some brass pieces made so I can sweat them into the inlet and outlet with npt threads. That way plumbing will be easier.

Again, I only sized this thing up. But it looks easily doable.

I like the idea of eliminating the tank. My setup uses an oil cooler as the radiator. Rick, correct me if I'm wrong but one of the advantages of the Goldwing radiator over an oil cooler is the ability to fill the system with fluid and allow air to escape from the cap. I'm thinking I could fill the system from the plug on top of the intercooler (see pic in 1st post) and ditch the tank all together. I could purge the system by allowing the pump to run while filling the system to 100% capacity.:hhmm: Depending on the pressure, I might have a fountain spraying out of the intercooler too.

Make sense?

I don't think air will naturally vent out of the cap unless pressure was built up in the system. I'd try and fill the system with the pump on. Hopefully the flow would move all the air out of the system without venting off the top. Once full put the cap on the rad and call it good.

Very true Cory. I'm going to do the mods this weekend.

After I install the new bumper and sliders, I'll shoot a couple pictures for you...or will that be too painful? ;)
