Ive heard about the possibility of an air pocket in the cooling system. can someone tell me how to eliminate this? I just purchased the dual stage thermostat and want to get it refilled right.

I just left it idling for a while with the rad cap off. After a few cycles of the thermostat, it should purge itself.

also pour the antifreeze in without using a funnel it can seal around the inlet and not let all of the air escape. also jacking the front up helps.

I always backfill the engine thru the t'stat hole.This way air can't get trapped behind the closed t'stat if you try to fill it via the radiator.

Squeasing the the lower rad hose also helps to purge air out. I learned that from an old body man at one of the first shops I worked at and I have not had any issues since doing that.
