Thanks for the reply flintknapper. Just wondering if it's common for the air gap to change without doing anything to the compressor? I only replaced the condenser and didn't touch the compressor at all.
The two surfaces wear....changing the air gap and eventually causing them to 'score and glaze'. This can cause the clutch to 'slip' at first...but over time will not engage anymore and burn the clutch. Not saying this is your problem...but something to look at if your compressor is old or the original.
