I'm pondering onboard controls for a winch I'm currently rebuilding and wanted a place to put a momentary rocker switch where I could have one hand on the steering wheel and a braced finger on the rocker switch which would control the winch in-out. A separate switch would be used to energize a solenoid to provide power to the winch itself. That AHC controls in the dash looks like a nice place for a useful switch since that system was deleted long ago.

Has anyone seen an insert replacing the AHC controls in the dash with a contura switch socket? Maybe even a 3d print somewhere that I can have made?
Failing that, can I reuse the AHC switch for both the power on-off via solenoid and winch in-out (If I go that route, can I dye the plastic black so the AHC controls no longer show?)

I got this to replace the AHC buttons. It lets you use two modern Toyota style switches for accessories.

From what I can tell, it’s actually milled aluminum though I have no way to verify it’s 6061. But for the price and it’s position in the vehicle, it’s fine enough for me.

ok that seems absolutely perfect. What switch holders and/or switches fit inside the cutouts?

NVM: found it buried in the description... 2 standard style 32.5mm x 22mm switches.
probably will go with a set like this CH4x4 Momentary Small Push Switch for Toyota – Winch IN-OUT Symbol – CH4X4 Industries - https://ch4x4.com/product/ch4x4-momentary-small-push-switch-for-toyota-winch-in-out-symbol/
or try to get two of the double switches put in like these CH4x4 Momentary Small Push Switch for Toyota – Winch IN-OUT Symbol – CH4X4 Industries - https://ch4x4.com/product/ch4x4-momentary-small-push-switch-for-toyota-winch-in-out-symbol/

I'll have to check and see how my fat fingers work in those button areas: I don't want to get bounced into pressing the wrong button.
