Hi has anyone recently purchased after market globes for their LX470 or had a bad/good experience using them. Or is OEM the only way to go through Impex Japan for a reasonable price
 
I bought four from a supplier out of the Houston area, several years ago. They failed after a few months. I then bought a set of four through Impex last year, for around $500, and they're OEM perfect. It rides like a new car.

Many of us had the same question when we started learning about how the Active Height Control (AHC) and Toyota Electronic Modulated Suspension (TEMS) systems work, and, what Parts are common between LX470 and LC100 (where AHC/TEMS is fitted).

The Parts Numbering system used by Toyota/Lexus is consistent throughout the Toyota/Lexus range and gives a unique number to each Part.

Well I may have just committed one of the most blasphemous acts known to planet Mud. But because I am doing this for ALL mudders' benefit, so you don't have to, hopefully it is not worthy of a Mud Excommunication. 😂🙏🏼😎

And as of today, with very aggressive big lug Prinx mudders, the ride is absolutely mint...mint I tell you. I mean perfect. Can't imagine it could be better even with stock Michelins.

Because of this sacrificial mudder research project, I will let you know when any or all globes fail.

I have some of these Pleiades globes on two of my Lexii. They have worked well for about 8 years now. I had them on my truck in about 35 hours after placing my order and shipped from the UK.

Personally, I would stay with Toyota/Lexus OEM parts rather than aftermarket items where longevity/reliability is unknown and untested with experience. If IMPEX cannot ship Toyota/Lexus OEM 'globes' ex-Japan, (and likely AMAYAMA ex-Japan may have the same problem), then in that case I would check Partsouq ex-UAE (but at the moment seems expensive at around USD400 per 'globe') and also Megazip ex-Singapore (which seems better at around USD200 per 'globe') -- plus freight and import duties/taxes/tariffs in all cases.

All these outfits are consolidators and traders in the worldwide business of auto spare parts -- they all run sourcing networks and/or buy parts from wherever inventories can be found and at whatever prices can be negotiated -- so there can be wild variations in prices offered to end-customers/users.

I bought a set of OEM globes through MOTORSHEAD in Japan. Wasn't 100% going in, but a good price and could deliver internationally unlike Amayama..
 
impex japan offer toyota and lexus globes..is there a difference? besides the higher price for lexus? can i just get the toyota globes for my lexus??
 
The lexus ones come with 'free' cookies.

When did you place this order? They told me they could not ship them due to the possibility of explosion.

I recently purchased a set of 4 OEM globes for my 2001 LX470 from Impex, Japan for $565 plus $104 for import duty/processing fees. They were shipped from DHL who also handled the import duty/processing fees. The transaction occurred after the newer tariff fees went into effect.
