Please post up details and pictures if you are running something like a 3 inch or 4inch daystar or energy suspension bump stop.

Since I installed my lift and larger tires and other mods...I've never bothered to swap out the 20+ year old bump stops...two of which are toast. The stock mount is a two bolt affair.

I assume people have made adapter brackets to run either the large two bolt aftermarket bump stop that has holes approx at the 5.25 center-line of the bolts or they are running something similar with respect to the bump stop but with the single stud mount.

I'm looking for ideas. The stock bump stop has the bolts at approx 4.25 from center of one bolt to center of the other. The aftermarket daystar bump stop has a similar arrangement but at roughly 5.25.

Looking for ideas on making some type of adapter bracket...etc.

My truck is a 86 FJ 60 with SUA 3 inch or so suspension lift. Looks to me like the daystar and energy suspension products are very similar if not identical. Some links to universal products like what I might use...but probably around 3 inches in height or so.

This is a 2x2 square tube bolted in the rear factory bump stop hole(I moved it the the front on later) it's a 6 in ProComp center bolt bump
Stop. This set up has worked very well SOA and SUA with 4 in.

Do you have the bump stop bracket welded to the frame? Just wondered how you were able to get the bolts tight?

I guess you could use a small ratchet and get 1/20th of a turn or so on the bolts...

On My orange truck I did the same but welded it right in the middle

It's open on the front and rear to get a ratchet wrench in

I'll probally try to work some combination of this and what kling-on has posted. Using an aftermarket single stud mount bump stop and then making the bottom plate match the mount points on the frame which according to my rough measurements of the OEM bump stops I took off to be something like 4.25 center of one bolt hole to the other. The OEM bump stops are like 2.5 inch wide at the base and approx 5 inches or so in length at the base (teh base mounting plate). I'll ask my buddy to weigh in so I donn't screw up...maybe 3 inch flat bar (if that size can be bought in small length or 2inch flat bar...and maybe a small section of 2*2 square tube to make the upright portion where the stop mounts.

Ok...no-one barbecue me for being a non-fabricating idiot.... thinking out loud..

Yeah...I see Mark's product and it looks good. I'm not sure I will stay with the OEM Toyota bump stop though, as I intend at present to go aftermarket. Thanks for the link....

I have the stock ones bolted to an aluminum spacer but they not survive the punishment in the front .. ( still have the rear ones on ) so I was thinking in something like this ..
