When I got my '01 LC recently, I found that it had a set of the one piece (DEPO maybe?) headlights that were in poor shape. The lenses were so yellow, and evenly so, that I thought that someone had tinted them. They also had stress cracks, the internals were loose and the mounts were broken. It was obvious to me that I needed to replace them along with the grill that was also in poor shape, which is not surprising given the age and mileage (342k). Three weeks ago I ordered a set of aftermarket headlights off of eBay for $150 for something to get me by until I decide if this truck is worth buying a set of the factory lights for. I know, dirt cheap, I wasn't expecting much ; maybe a box of broken parts, but there are many advertised for that price, A bit over a week ago, I got the package. One left headlight. It looks decent, hey, maybe I will be lucky and have something usable when the right one shows up. Long, painful story short, they didn't and won't send the other light, offering only $30 compensation if I keep it and said that the order was for just a right headlight even though the ad clearly states "pair, left and right". with another item description for a right headlight attached. Huh? So, I have to send this LEFT headlight back and get a refund. EBay won't give a refund as tracking shows I received the item and I need to go through the vendor, who doesn't even know what I bought or what they sent. In the end, I paid with a card, so one way or another, I get my money back, even though I just want headlights so I can drive the damn truck... Caveat emptor.

Anyway, in the mean time I thought I would take apart, fix and polish up the one piece DEPO lights the truck came with and get them usable. These one piece lights are NOT very high quality. The lenses had to be sanded and polished on the outside AND inside surfaces. I have redone a bunch of lights, but have never seen the inside surface to be this bad. The wiring was also poor quality. I would be VERY careful with those new lights being supplied with the projectors installed. I would put on good PPF if you want them to last at all, but I would also worry about the inside surface. These lights had LEDs in them when I got them, so I wouldn't have thought the inside would be so bad.

If anyone could recommend a good place to get new factory, or excellent used lights for a decent price, PM me.

Used - ebay

New - Sera, Ourisman, Valdosta, Fred Anderson, they are Toyota dealers, you need to shop around but those usually have the best prices

I can't remember if MY '01 came with glass, but my MY '99 did and I replaced them this last summer.

So much better! Get them while there is a discount at some of the dealers @Aracobuilt mentions above if possible.

I believe 98-05 were glass.
