Three more. Next weekend we will do the same thing to the HJ. We have decided on running the vehicle on 12V for many reasons; these include but are not limited to:

1. Able to run true dual batteries and not have to have a total of four batteries.
2. The HJ has no A/C controls (this is the major reason) so we would have to track down everything.
3. Most vehicles over there are on 12V systems

since this is going to be by the ocean for a few years and probably not washed a whole lot are you all going to protect the frame with some kind of coating?

As for tires I wouldn't get anything less than a load E to get as many plys as you can.

This last weekend we pulled the drive train form the HJ and learned just HOW BAD the rust is.

We had someone give us a 6 month old WARN 9500 that has only been used once so thats really cool.

Those are the cheap-o overload shocks. Its a quick fix for:

A) A rig with sagging rear springs
B) Someone who consistently overloads the rear of their rig.

I don't recommend them and think they are very red-neck.

I believe helper air-bags are they way to go for said problems

I just found this thread (I'm usually in the 40's forum). WOW!!! You guys are doing a great work!! I wish I had the funds to donate to such a worthy project. I'm recovering from a massive staph infection that started just before Christmas '08 so money is a rare and strange commodity for us. The church I attend is financially helping my family survive. BUT, prayer does not cost anything and thankfully I am a living, breathing, and walking example that GOD works wonders through prayer. I will be keeping this project in my prayers and if by some miracle I come into some extra funds I will be sending some your way.

May GOD bless you and this project!!!
Don
