Ray's Tavern...Green River, Ut. (100 mi. west of Grand Junction.) One of the best burgers in the West plus UT brews.

I looked it up - sounds GREAT. That's a perfect mid-way place to stop for lunch on our way to Grand Junction. Thanks!

Success!!

Thanks to everyone for the advice and encouragement! Yesterday my piggie and I arrived in Fort Collins Colorado from Los Angeles CA.

1100 miles and 11000' feet of climbing and NO PROBLEMS whatsoever. I am so proud.

Stay tuned for a restoration thread on this vehicle by Scorcher1967.

Who in Fort Collins is doing the resto?

How long are you in the Fort?

Ah, I think I have a guess: https://forum.ih8mud.com/fj55-iron-pig-preservation-society/284643-rare-sight.html

Yes - scorcher1967 is doing the resto. After seeing his work last year on that stunning blue pig on the left (https://forum.ih8mud.com/fj55-iron-pig-preservation-society/118502-fj55-deconstruction.html)

Well after that I knew he was DA MAN for the job.

BTW The 55 on the right we nicknamed Frankencruiser and besides his excellent roof we will have much to thank him for.

I have to leave The Fort today, and sadly too. Jason and his family are wonderful and this is a great town I could easily hang out in for awhile. Even if it was the armpit of the world I really wish I could stay to take part in the work but I have to go back home to provide for my piggie's reconstructive surgery.

After its performance on the way up here from southern california, I love it more than ever. Truly, a noble beast. As hard as it will be to leave it behind I know it is in the best of hands.
