Don't know about the rest of you guys but my current plan is to camp tomorrow night, gonna be in Woodstock and leaving from there will save me 2 hrs round trip driving and $50 in gas so just seams the logical thing to do. Don't know for sure but probably wont get up there till around 7:30- 8:00 which is just in time to throw a tent down and get dinner before dark.

Weather forecast is at least acceptable at this point. "They" are all saying cloudy during the day Sat with scattered showers coming in later Sat evening and slowly going down hill from there, depending on who stays/goes Sat afternoon I might also camp Sat night or hit the road home.

anyone???

I have plans tomorrow night, so I cant head out Friday night...

According to the Weather Channel, the storms coming through late Saturday and early Sunday are suppose to be severe. I will more than likely come up Saturday morning and leave out Saturday night unless the outlook on storms looks better. No need in having to drive back in bad weather on Sunday morning...

i can try and head up for the day on Saturday morning? i doubt id be wheeling, more likely sleeping in someones passenger seat :princess:
I get off work around 5:30 so id probably be there by 8am ish

Hadn't seen the report on severe thunderstorms at all, just made it sound like rain likely on Sunday. I suspect we're all headed back Sat evening which is fine with me, just don't get week kneed and bail out on us. :flipoff2:

It will be a rush job, but I will probably come up Friday night. I could use some campfire time.

cool, figured we could catch a pizza joint or something in town for dinner, maybe a local "talent" show just to keep it interestin' :D. Simple camping.... campfire, tent mattress and that's it. not bringing any stoves or anything that requires that I get out of my camp chair and work.

There is/was a pretty good little pizza/italian place in South Pittsburg (Stevarino's on the main drag), and across 24 in Kimball there is a Wal-Mart and a few of the usual fastfood joints and a craker barrel.

Radiator is not swapped in the 80 but I might try to knock it out tomorrow evening and try to talk Erin into riding down. Its been a rough week so not sure how that will go.

it's 4 bolts and 2 clamps, get' er dun!!! thanks for the tip on the pizza joint.

Anyone bringing the :princess:......trying to convince mine to make the trip!

don't know of any on this trip. If she's borderline hold out for the pig roast next month, it's a more sociable family event and a lot of fun.

Are people still meeting at 8:30 tomorrow morning off I75?

Yes that is still the plan, I'll PM you my cell number...

Your welcome on the pizza. I wish it were that easy. On the mini yes, on the 80 negative. I started on it. Shroud and fan clutch out, battery and battery tray out, grill out, PS belt off, drain coolant, unhook AT coolant lines, discover the new rad is made for the fittings that were on the OE rad and that the aftermarket rad currently installed doesn't have them on it. Cuss and start trying to figure out where to find said fittings. And that is where it sits currently. I gotta chase down the fittings or order them from Sam this week and then reassemble in reverse order... the 3FE may run forever but it is a serious B!tch to work on!

I've always heard its easier to work on lol! I piddle here and there but anything major I'm still in call the shop mode.

Decided to hit Tray Mtn today with the lady (actual female not just the truck). Has anyone been up there before?? If not I suggest a planned ride soon.....it was a blast.

Had a great time at AOP, Fantastic park with loads and loads of potential. We ended up with a total of about 8 rigs, Robert (31s) and one of his buddies (jeep 33s and rear locker) stuck to the moderate trails while the rest of us went looking for Black diamonds.

Friday night I met Sid for dinner in S Pittsburg at Stevarino's as Jynx suggested, he didn't steer us wrong. We spent a couple hours shootin' the shiite and had a great meal. Thanks Jynx!!! South Pittsburgh is a nice little town with lots to offer.

I finally rolled into camp after dinner around 9:30 and Sid and I crashed around a campfire with Baily (former GC member) and a few of his friends until they went night wheeling at god only knows what hour.

Saturday morning Nick, Robert and Tom showed up about 10 and after all the BS we finally hit the trails. We didn't really have time to see half of the park and at only 500 acres it sounds small but there are loads of trails. Unfortunately the trail map isn't up to date and doesn't show half of them but with as quickly they're cutting in new ones it's understandable. There seems to be a good mix of moderate and difficult trails that should appeal to just about anyone, a guy on 33s and a rear locker could have a great time as would a L/L buggy on 42's.

We spent the first hour or so just getting a feel for the place and then hit a couple harder trails, the first had one tough spot that was steep uphill but with a little wheel speed almost everyone made it. The 2nd trail we hit, damn... It was cool. it was a good 300-400 yards long and was a consistent challenge. This is where Nick parted with his hub studs and ended his day. See pics below.

Parking and camping are plentiful, the area is 10-15 acre open field with a gravel road and makes for easy driving in a 2 WD tow rig.

Carny award should go to Andy for a broken brake line and an old Longfield but he aint a member so it goes to Nick for sheering all the hub studs on the driver's side.

Pics: Didn't take a lot of pics but here's what I have.

Ted, Thanks for posting the trail report and the pics, I've got to get better with getting my phone out and taking pics. I had a great time (even though I sheared the hub studs) and look forward to going back. Glad we got out of there last night, because it has rained for over 12 hours at our house and would have been a pain driving back in...

For those of you that weren't there, the pic of me sideways was me as close to flopping as I ever care to be, pic doesn't give it justice...Ted even backed his truck up so if I flopped, I wouldn't hit him

a couple of Andy's friends had cameras and I was kinda hoping see those pics but seems every time I google "andy's friends pics" all I get are a bunch of porn sites. :flipoff2:
