hmm...I don't have IE8 available...my Win7 laptop runs IE9 and everything displays correctly.


unsure why your browser would not render the pages correctly...do you have Chrome or Firefox installed? I have had nothing but frustrations with IE and have run Chrome for a few years and much prefer it.

Tho, that doesn't fix the IE8 display issue...

This is my work computer so I take what I'm given. I just tried Firefox and I can't duplicate the problem. Firefox won't let me scroll down until the add loads. IE7 will let me scroll down past where the add is displayed before the page loads completely and then it dumps the add over the thread.

hmm....stuffing the tags within an iframe would fix that, but then creates other issues...those must be screen shots when you are not logged in, since side columns don't display at all for Star'd users.

I'll see what I can figure out...appreciate the info and assistance


Statistically, 1/3 of forum visitors are on IE....of that 1/3, 50% are on IE9, 40% IE8, and the balance on older versions.

Perhaps text size or page zoom is out of whack.

Can't hurt to try dumping all your internet temp files and reset IE setting under options/advanced.

I've seen similar things on hospital computers running IE of various versions, installed and managed by the hospital IT dept. I gave up and surfed MUD on my phone.
