Anyone help me by telling/showing me where the adjustment screw is for the headlight height is. My driver side headlight is mysteriously higher since I got it back from the stealership and i am not taking it back to them anytime soon for something so simple I should be able to fix, yet for all my looking and screwing around in there I cant seem to figure it out. I'm blinding people as they approach me and I feel bad about it.:o

Does anyone know how to adjust? Mine are out too and we blind on coming traffic.

Here you go guys. You can adjust through hole with flat screwdriver or directly use 8 mm socket. Clockwise should go higher and counter should go lower.

That worked like a charm, Thank you. Unfortunately you cant adjust low and high beam independently. The screw seems to move the whole housing.

I couple adjustments and a few test drives and I think I got it pretty well adjusted. Thanks Again.

Check this out,
I inspected the high beams bulbs and they both have this brown "stain" on them. The marks are almost identical but I wonder for what purpose.

Also, What is the purpose of the little 5 W bulb between the high and low beam towards the bottom of the assembly Day time running light is the high beam. Do some countries use this as the running light? Doesn't seem to serve a purpose.

Arich,

Yes, the adjustment screw moves the whole housing.

I think those are some form of stains, wear and tear on the high beam bulbs from being on all the time on half power, mine are similar but not as bad. Should be normal.

The 5W bulbs are for parking / running lights and are used so the you are still seen if you were to park and not have your head lights on.

I installed 5W amber bulbs in place of the stock ones with the hid kit and they look way better now.

Hope this helps...

Amber lights. Can you send me a picture please.

Arich, I will send pics tonight probably in a new thread on the lights so I can also show my amber park lights, hid's and back up lights,

This thread helped me identify which of the holes/bolts I need to use to adjust the headlights up and down. But what about left to right? And can I assume that they process is the same on the 2016? After the modest lift that I did, I had people flashing that they thought I had my high beams on. Took it my dealership to adjust and they came back really low - like scary low. So I am trying to do it on my own.

For my '17, instructions for headlight aiming (both vertical and horizontal) are on pages 485-485 of the owner's manual, including drawings of where the adjustment screws are. I'm about to do it myself, since the airbags have caused my headlights to be way too low. That cut-off on the LED headlights is much too sharp unless the headlights are perfectly aimed.

Hey, @Sandroad, I have been looking at the diagram in the manual over and over. I was confused by what was being depicted. I took off the cover and that didn’t help. Also, on the cover there are labels that indicate which way to turn the screwdriver or whatever in order to move R/L or U/D. It apparently is different with different lighting technology so there are four different options.

What was most frustrating to me is that having pulled up close to a wall I was having a difficult time noticing any change. I had to make a lot more turns than I expected. I was able to see some slight up and down. But I definitely cannot seem to detect any left to right.

And finally, the manual says for my 2016 (I expect yours is the same) that there is auto-leveling. If there is, I am not seeing it while driving.

I'll go out and attempt the headlight aim tomorrow and let you know what I run into. I definitely have to get mine aimed higher. it's possible that a small change on a close wall would mean a large change 100 yds down the road? Also, I have yet to see any evidence of auto-aiming. My guess is that it's designed primarily to lower the headlights when the truck is loaded, rather than raise the headlights when the rear suspension is lifted for any reason. In my case, installing the Airlift bags added a bit to the rear height when unloaded, so the auto system doesn't know what to do?

I can't help on the adjusting, but I had auto leveling headlights in my 05 and 07 ES cars and they worked great. There was a little linkage on the rear suspension that it used to sense the car angle, maybe look for that. They also did this funny up-down thing every time I started the car in the garage, I guess it was a self test. Maybe they are disabled?

Thanks, @KLF. I hadn’t thought about linkage in the rear. They do say to have a full tank of gas, park on a level spot and bounce up and down a bit before going through the leveling adjustment.

Hello everyone! Quick question, my driver side is pointing too low and this evening I went to try to adjust it. I turned the screw about 5 complete turns and did not see any change, does it take many turns to get them to move?

Thank you.

i need to adjust mine lower

i did 6 turns - seem to hardly make a difference

is it a screw where i need 30 turns?

what is the black sponge like thing with headlight photo next to it?

I'd adjust the rear linkage before trying to do 30 turns on the headlight adjuster. If you adjust it off the rod, you're totally hosed.
