on the top of the pump

This is what the man I bought it off told me!

The 1986 model has the better fuel pump, and as a
result, is quite quick.

I am assuming he wasn't just taking smak, because everthing he told me about the truck was very honest.

;^)
rotory pumps have the lines comig out the back in a rotory fashion...

he might have been mislead by the previous owner as well...

umm

is there any differences in 86 CDN spec, compared to previous years?

The only reason I ask is he had an 85 also, so if there was a difference he would know.

I dunno

No engine differences. 5 bearing cam started for the '85 model year. '86 was 24Volts... That's about the only difference between the two years. When did the aluminum bellhousing, 38mm t-case idler start? '85 or '86? Canada never got a rotary pump for road use. If you find one its JDM (or other market) or mine truck.

it hasn't been swapped, cnd spec 3B's came with rotary pumps the last year 1986, I thought! I know there is a difference between mine and the 85's, a while back someone told me that was it.

Whats an easy way to tell?

I have 85' 86' and 87' cnd BJ70 all with 3B and all have inline fuel pump.

Only difference between 85' 86' and 87' other than what is mentioned is front door panel pockets, and factory tie down straps on 87' model (door pockets showed up in 86' as far as I can tell).
