Picked this up today for $600.00
Spring over on 35s, i was told it ran 10 years ago.
Now i have a place to store my spare 3B.
Anyone recognize this truck?

Drained the ten year old gas and with a spare battery and some new fuel it fired right up.
My son power washed the body and it looks even rougher but it didn't dull his enthusiasm.
He will be the one driving it for now if we put it on the road.

Turns out this thing runs pretty sweet except there is no accelerator pump shot.
Came across a Holley 2BRL ProJection unit along with a NOS closed loop kit to go with it.
Used this system years ago on a SBC and it worked pretty well back then, so with the addition of an 02 sensor in the closed loop kit it should work pretty sweet.

Pulled the Tcase & trans to rebuild, cleaned up the drive shafts.
ready to go back in.

Drained the front diff, because of what came out we decided have a closer look.

So the knuckles came apart and out came the third, 78 is supposed to be 4.11 gears so i am told so i went through one of the thirds i have hanging about.
Got it all ready to go in, thought i would make sure i was putting in what i took out and found the truck has/had 3.70.
Dug through some boxes and found a set of 4.11 gears taken out of our 80, changed the gears out.

Looks like i will be doing the rear as well.
So whats the deal? Does the 78 fj40 have 3.70s or 4.11s?

I ask the question because it seems odd someone would go from stock rubber to 35s and from 4.11s to 3.70s.
