So I was arriving to my building where the garage has a pretty steep ramp... While i was taking my first turn, the active TRAC light started flashing and this weird sound started sounding and the truck didn't want to proceed. It was like when you try turning with the diff locked. Later it stopped doing that and the ABS, VSC trac, and the VSC off light came on and stayed on.

When I parked i turned the car off and then back on and there was nothing on the dash. Its actually the second time it happened today :bang:

Any idea what this could be???

By the way... I have a 2000 LX 470 with 137,000 miles

ABS sensor might be going bad. If the ABS, VSC TRAC, and VSC OFF lights come on again, bring it to your closest dealer or auto parts store and get the code read before you cycle(turn off/on) the ignition again.

I'm gonna guess right front wheel speed sensor, but get the codes read before you do anything.

I have that problem after driving through lots of rain or washing the undercarrige really well with a hose, my toy mechanic friend said it's the connectors causing it when they get wet... anyone else have this happen?

Yes... It rained yesterday. But not today.

Thanks for your help. Will do that tomorrow if I have some time

Anajjar, did you find out what your issue is? I just experienced that same type of thing. I get the same lights that come up after driving for about 15 minutes for no obvious reason everything seems to be driving fine. However, today when I was taking off from a light the active TRAC lights began to blink and the truck started shuttering like it was engaging. I left off the gas and slowly got back on it and it didn't do it again and drove home fine. I will be bringing it to a shop to check it out. What was your issue.

Good advise!

Dielectric grease in all the connectors will help if water intrusion is the problem.
I packed my fronts cavities with 1/8" of thick grease in sensor area, ~70K miles ago, keeping a weep hole open clear of grease.

Thank you for the dielectric grease tip! I'll put the on my to-do-list. Although I've never had any issue like OP's, which I've been seeing similar post on lately. Possible keeping all splash shield & fastens in place helps from getting water logged, in normal on-road conditions.

I'm sorry to raise a very old thread but i'm having this exact issue and didn't find a more recent one that describes this.

Can i assume the wheel speed sensor giving fault is still good and just clean/reconnect with dialectric grease? Or said sensors need replacement? Thanks!

It doesn't hurt to try cleaning the connections. It's very easy to do, but don't be surprised if one of the sensors is failing.
